TU student takes home an award at the provincial “Youth Speech Contest on National Security in the New Era”

Jin Lu, a student from TU’s School of Teacher Education (Physical Education) secured the third prize with her compelling presentation titled “The Future Has Arrived, Are You Ready?” in Zhejiang Provincial “Youth Speech Contest on National Security in the New Era” held on April 2nd.

Preparations for this competition were meticulous. Under the tutelage of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee Office and the Municipal Education Bureau, the university’s Youth League Committee, in collaboration with the Security Department, handpicked the top candidate and nurture her talents, providing guidance in refining her speech content and conducting rigorous pre-competition training simulations. Jin Lu emerged as the only representative from colleges and universities across Taizhou, demonstrating remarkable resilience and achieving commendable result amidst fierce competition from contestants across various sectors in the province.

Reflecting on her experience, Jin remarked, “The competition shed light on the concerted efforts exerted by individuals across various sectors towards ensuring national security. It underscored the profound notion that national security serves everyone’s interests and is everyone’s responsibility. As a college student, I am resolute in fostering a steadfast commitment to national security and translating it into tangible action.”

Spearheaded by the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee Office, the CPC Provincial Committee Publicity Department, and the Provincial Department of National Security, and guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era and the overall national security concept, the contest aimed to deepen ideological education for the new generations born in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Spanning two and a half days, the event encompassed a diverse array of activities, including educational screenings, expert lectures, and the formal contest. Thirty-six participants, selected and recommended from diverse regions and sectors, converged at Communication University of Zhejiang to vie for top honors. The presentations covered a diverse range of topics, encompassing cybersecurity, cultural preservation, energy sustainability, ecological conservation, border security, and healthcare resilience.
