Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Metric &Cutting Tools Test and Deep Processing Technology Research

Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Metric &Cutting Tools Test and Deep Processing Technology Research is based on the provincial first-class discipline “Materials Science and Engineering” of Taizhou University. The laboratory houses 53 full-time staff, of whom, 14 are professors, 60.4% have a senior academic title, 38 are doctoral degree holders, accounting for 71.7%. Of its team members, 2 are listed in “Zhejiang 151 Talent Program”, 3 are Zhejiang young and middle-aged discipline leaders, 1 is listed in national talent introduction plan, 1 is provincial level guest professor, 1 is national level guest professor. The laboratory is well-equipped and technologically advanced, with a total area of about 3,200 square meters of research space and a total instrument set-up value of 31.236 million Yuan RMB.

The laboratory is centered on the major demand of Taizhou City to build a “manufacturing capital”. It takes the metric &cutting tools industrial clusters in Wenling, which is known as “Renowned Tools City of China”, and the mold industrial clusters in Huangyan, which is known as “Hometown of Plastic Molds in China”, as the research background. As the only provincial key laboratory in the field of metric &cutting tools technology in China, it integrates basic research, technology development, quality testing, talent training, and professional training. The laboratory has formed 3 research directions in the field of metric &cutting tools test and deep processing technology: metric &cutting tool materials test and new materials application; heat treatment and coating technology for metric &cutting tools; test of cutting tools structure performance and cutting tools design and manufacturing technology. These can provide technical support for the test of tool and mold materials, surface coating technology service, and design and manufacturing of tools and molds.
