Founded in December 2019, the Research Institution of EducationScience, TU is a community of education development and research that integrates researchers both in and out of TU and takes education science theory and practice as the research object. Professor Wu Gang of East China Normal University serves as the honorary president, thevicepresidentofTU Li Junmin holds the post of the president, and professor Wang Shaofei from School ofTeacherand Education acts as the executive director. The institution consist of the Institute of Basic Education Development Strategic Planning, the Institute of Curriculum and Teaching, the Institute of Teacher andEducation, and the Institute of Pre-school Education. It is engaged in providing decision-making consultations for basic education, academic research as well as reforming and development for TU faculty and education, providing local educational authorities with decision-making consultations on educational development, and intelligent support to the development of local elementary schools, which helps to attract and gather talents in basic education as well as in teacher and education, and form excellent research and innovation teams.

Since its founding, it has focused on academic research in basic education that can support teacher and education. Since its foundation, the consultation reports its members participated in or undertook have obtained written comments by state leaders, and have attended conferences on amending compulsory education curriculum convoked by Ministry of Education. Its members have undertaken several projects at national, provincial and municipal level, have published their papers in an authoritative journal ofResearch in Teaching, and in national first-class journals such asResearch in Educational DevelopmentandZhejiang Social Sciences, and won more than ten Teaching and Research Achievement Awards.Meanwhile, its members take part in reform and development of regional basic education curriculum in an all-round way, cooperate with local middle and elementary schools and kindergartens to jointly carry out basic education research and build teacher development schools. It is also devoted to such services as planning and formulating the development of basic education schools, campus culture construction and school-based training.
