Recently, Clarivate Analytics released the latest data of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database for January 2022, with 362 universities in Chinese Mainland on the list. Taizhou University was ranked 262nd in the country and 3613th globally, respectively up 15 places and 224 places from the previous ranking, making it the "most improved" university in China.
The ESI database includes SCIE and SSCI papers and citations published in more than 12,000 academic journals in the past 10 years, which is widely representative and recognized worldwide. The database publishes statistics every two months, and the data released this time shows that the number of papers published by the University has increased from 2,671 in the last issue to 3,024, an increase of 353; the number of citations has grown from 27,005 in the last edition to 31,662, a rise of 4,657, showing significant improvement in terms of quantity and quality of high-level research papers.
