On the morning of March 14, the farewell meeting for recruits in the spring of 2022 was held in the Multifunctional Hall of Xinhu College. Li Junmin, member of the CPC Committee and vice president of Taizhou University, attended and delivered a speech. Heads and teachers of relevant departments and schools also attended the farewell meeting which was presided by Zhang Meifen, head of Students Affairs Department.
On behalf of the university, Li Junmin congratulated the seven recruits who were about to enter the military career and embark on a new journey, and put forward three expectations. First, improve standing and win glory for the school. As a soldier of the People's Liberation Army, they should stand in the height of national security to understand their service work, enhancing the awareness of being prepared for danger and suffering in times of peace, constantly improving their own political literacy, and winning glory for the country and the university. Second, study hard and cultivate skills. In the context of the Internet and digital era, they should cherish the two-year barracks life, keep learning, and strive to become a high-quality and capable person with culture, discipline, expertise and technology, so as to contribute to the comprehensive realization of the "two centenary" goals. Third, cherish the motherland and forge ahead. They should aim high, be loyal to the motherland, integrate personal ideals into national construction, move from a small self to a big one, live up to the trust of the country and forge ahead. All schools and relevant departments should maintain close contact with enlisted students with constant attention to their situation and good service to their needs so that these students can concentrate on training and work in the military camp.
At the farewell meeting, the prospective recruits reported their situation and said that they would carry forward the spirit of hard work in the army to become a soldier of the People's Liberation Army with all-round development. Other teachers at the meeting also put forward hopes and encouragement to the students. Li Junmin also wore red flowers for these students who joined the army.
It is known that a total of 25 male students and 23 female students have applied for recruitment since the university launched the 2022 recruitment in early December 2021. After physical examination, political assessment, home visit and pre-service training, 7 male students have the honor of joining the Army (and 8 female students have entered the stage of political assessment). After the farewell meeting, these students will enter the military camp shortly to realize their dream of serving the country and fulfill the mission of guarding the country.
