2nd International Food Festival held at TU

On the afternoon of May 3, the annual TU International Food Festival was held in the faculty canteen of Jiaojiang Campus. With the theme of connecting the world and living up to youth, this food festival was hosted by the CYL Committee, the International School and the Logistics Management Office. Jin Xianlong, Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee of Taizhou University, Shi Anquan, Dean of the International School, Pan Yao, Secretary of the CYL Committee, Wang Linjun, Deputy Head of Student Affairs Department, and Wang Aiqin, Vice Dean of the International School attended the event, which was presided over by Yang AoXin, member of the presidium of the CYL Committee. Student representatives from schools on Jiaojiang Campus and international students  participated in the activities.

The food festival kicked off with the intense preparation of the participating teams. The attendees ambled along the booths to view and savour delicious food of various countries and regions including Chinese cuisine like Ninghai Yishi Mush, Northeast Rice Package, West Lake Fish in Vinegar Gravy and Guizhou Spicy Chicken, Uzbekistani cuisine G`ilmindi, Osh and Galubsi, Kimbap of South Korea, Mansaf of Jordan and Гнездо of Tajikistan. Chinese cuisine and foreign food culture are integrated and complementary with a spark of compatibility in this International Food Festival. In the end, Galubsi and Гнездо prepared by students of the International School were unanimously acclaimed by the teachers and students present, and the international students Mina and Milano won the first prize of the International Food Festival.

With a focus on the catering culture, the International Food Festival is a distinctive cultural activity on our campus which has contributed to cultural exchanges and facilitated students appreciation of the charm of food culture. The international students have expressed their gratitude to the school for such an opportunity to exhibit their national food culture, and Chinese students also cherish this opportunity to taste delicious food from many countries and communicate with foreign students. Hence, this festival has built a platform for Chinese and foreign students to strengthen cultural exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and establish profound friendship.
