Two more national first-class undergraduate major construction sites approved at TU

Recently, the Ministry of Education released the third batch of national and provincial first-class undergraduate majors construction sites. Clinical Medicine and Tourism Management of TU were selected as national first-class undergraduate construction sites, while Mathematics and Applied Mathematics and Civil Engineering were selected as provincial first-class undergraduate construction sites. Currently at TU, there are three national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and nine provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites.

Engaged in undergraduate and graduate education, the major of Clinical Medicine leads regional medical education and medical services and aims to cultivate applied clinical medical talents who can meet the needs of medical industry and social development. Oriented towards local service and application and relying on the advantages of Zhejiang's cultural and tourism industry, the major of Tourism Management aims to cultivate innovative and applied tourism management talents by cooperating with local governments and enterprises and constructing an educational mechanism of deep integration of production, teaching and research.

Since the Ministry of Education launched the construction of first-class undergraduate majors in 2019, TU has actively aligned itself with the relevant policies, strengthened top-level design, taken multiple measures simultaneously and comprehensively coordinated all efforts. With a focus on the construction of first-class majors, first-class courses and professional certification, TU adhered to the concept of "student-centered, output-oriented, and continuous improvement", and attached great importance to the cultivation of regional advantages and characteristics of disciplines and majors. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, TU will further take advantage of the exemplary role of first-class major construction sites to constantly strengthen the construction of majors and comprehensively improve the quality of talent training.
