The Chinese Classics Reading Competition for Zhejiang College Students is sponsored by the provincial Language Commission and Zhejiang College Students Science and Technology Competition Committee, guided by the provincial Language Workers Association, and organized by Shaoxing University and Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. The competition is divided into four categories: undergraduate group, higher vocational college group, comprehensive group and international student group. Recently, TU students have won good results in the competitions of undergraduate group, comprehensive group and international student group.
In the competition of the comprehensive group, TU’s works Qiujin, Ode to Chibi and Trumpeter won the first, second and third prize of the comprehensive group respectively. Among them, the works Qiujin and Ode to Chibi stood , and were shortlisted from the 120 works submitted by 49 colleges and universities for the Fourth Chinese Classic Reading, Writing and Speaking Competition.
In the competition of the international student group, the works "Farewell Ode on Visiting Mount Heaven-Grandmother in Dream" and "My Cottage Unroofed by Autumn Gales" won the third prize of the international student group. In the undergraduate individual group, the preliminary competition results of eight TU students ranked among the top 30%. Due to the limit vacancies in the final, Zhou fan, Chen Siyu, Li Zhiyun and Xia Yushi were shortlisted for the provincial first prize and second prize; and Zheng Biyao, Fan Keyi, Wang Nuoyi and Hu Yixuan won the provincial third prize.
The Chinese Classics Reading Competition for Zhejiang College Students has a positive significance for inheriting classics, leading college students to read Chinese classics, improving college students' humanity quality, and carrying forward Chinese excellent traditional culture.
