On the morning of October 27, the 32nd Taizhou University Track and Field Games opened in Jiaojiang Campus. Cui Fengjun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Taizhou University, announced the opening of the Games. Le Chuanyong, Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Taizhou University delivered a speech. Jin Xianlong, Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee of Taizhou University, and Wang Zheng, member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Taizhou University, attended the opening ceremony. Li Junmin, member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Taizhou University, presided over the ceremony.

Le Chuanyong said in his speech that TU attaches great importance to the development of sports and regards the Games as a good opportunity to gather ideas, inspire people and boost morale. He said that the annual sports meeting is a comprehensive review of the spiritual outlook and physical quality of teachers and students in secondary colleges and functional departments. He hoped that all the teachers and students of the University will take the opportunity of the Games to participate in the competition, and contribute to the construction of a first-class high-level applied university with international good reputation.

Qian Chenhang of the School of Foreign Languages and Wang Yifan of the School of Teacher Education took the oath as representatives of athletes and referees respectively.

At the opening ceremony, accompanied by “the march of the athletes”, 19 phalanxes, including the performance phalanx, the flag phalanx, the colored flag team, and the athletes, walked steadily past the rostrum in turn, and demonstrated to the audience the young students' energetic, healthy and progressive spirit and youthful strength with distinctive clothing, unique creativity, and brilliant performances.

After the ceremony, a group consisting of school leaders, heads of secondary colleges, relevant functional departments, affiliated hospitals, affiliated schools and environmental sciences, as well as some members of the Organizing Committee of the Games, led more than 500 student representatives to jointly open the 2022 "Sunshine Running" activity.

It is reported that the Games will last for two days, with 17 male student group events, 17 female student group events, 6 collective and fun sports events for students, and 5 fun events for faculties. More than 1000 teachers and students will participate in the Games.
