In response to the call of the China Rural Development Foundation and to improve the public welfare literacy and practical ability of college students, the Youth Volunteer Association of Taizhou University and RT Mart Supermarket held the first charity fundraising activity of "100 Benevolent Actions" in 2022 at Citizen's Square in Jiaojiang District from October 29 to 30.
In the process of fundraising, volunteers introduced the content and significance of the "100 Benevolent Actions" to passers-by in detail on the streets and alleys, and called on people to pay attention to underdeveloped areas and offer love and blessings to children in poor areas. After listening to the volunteers' stories, many have chosen to donate money and materials to support the fundraising activity with their own practical actions. Volunteers said that the fundraising activities could not only improve their ability of communication, organization and coordination, but also help them deeply understand the meaning of helping others and being benevolent. At the same time, it has also inspired citizens to take the initiative to pay attention to the underdeveloped areas and contribute to social development.
"100 Benevolent Actions" is a national college students’ voluntary service activity for public welfare launched by the China Rural Development Foundation (formerly the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation) in 2011. It conveys the public welfare concept of "turning small love into big love" through packages, which has attracted extensive attention from the society. Since TU participated in "100 Benevolent Actions" in 2012, under the guidance of the CYL Committee, the Youth Volunteers Association of Taizhou University has organized student volunteers to participate in the charity activities, raising money for students in underdeveloped areas. It is reported that "100 Benevolent Actions" will be held for seven sessions in which 800 more TU students will participate in the activities.
