Recently, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education released the list of the first batch of Zhejiang Textbook Construction Research Centers (Bases), into which the New Materials Professional Textbook Research Base declared by Professor Jin Yanxian of School of Medicine and Chemical Engineering was selected. A total of 16 units in the province were awarded the first batch of Zhejiang Textbook Construction Research Centers (Bases), including 9 universities.

The base is supported by the two provincial first-class disciplines of material science and engineering and chemical engineering and technology, and based on a number of provincial scientific research and teaching platforms such as Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Workmanship and Cutting Tools, Zhejiang Engineering Center, Zhejiang Key Experimental Demonstration Center, and an open cooperation platform. At the same time, the base sticks to the path of industry-education integration to build a professional teaching team in the field of new materials and promote the integrated and systematic reform and research of courses and textbooks. In doing so, it aims to build a textbook research base integrating textbook research, consultation and guidance, teacher training, and teaching reform, and thus play a leading role in the research and construction of new materials teaching materials in the province.

Based on the previous exploration, the New Materials Professional Textbook Research Base will focus on building a virtual communication platform for teaching materials research, and create a broader and better teaching materials research atmosphere through the platform.
