On the morning of November 17, the founding ceremony of Wenling Research Institute of Taizhou University was held in Wenling. Academician Zhou Ji, honorary chairman of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former minister of the Ministry of Education, was invited to attend. Cui Fengjun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Taizhou University, Ma Licai, Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee and Mayor of Wenling, jointly inaugurated Wenling Research Institute of Taizhou University. Zhao Xiaoming, member of the CPC Committee and vice president of Taizhou University, and Lin Guang, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Committee and head of the Organization Department of Wenling, inaugurated Taizhou University-Wenling Graduate Joint Training Base. Liang Haitao, Vice Mayor of Wenling, presided over the ceremony.

Cui Fengjun said in his speech that Wenling has a strong demand for high-level talents and high-tech breakthroughs as it is striving to build new highlands in terms of common prosperity, modern city, industrial fusion, scientific and technological innovation, and coastal tourism. He asked Wenling Research Institute of Taizhou University to make great efforts on the following three aspects. First, it should strive to become a new "highlight" of the school-enterprise cooperation, and achieve a new pattern of development in which the city and the university enjoy common prosperity and progress. Second, it should strive to build a new "growth point" serving Wenling's economic and social development, and help solve the urgent problems of Wenling's industrial transformation and high-quality development. Third, it should strive to create a new "development point" to deepen the coordination between government, industry, university and research, and carry out the training of high-tech talents in an innovative way.

Ma Licai said in his speech that we should take the establishment of Wenling Research Institute of Taizhou University as an opportunity to achieve win-win cooperation. First, the research institute should provide more powerful scientific and technological innovation and technical service support for the high-quality development of Wenling industry. Second, the research institute should become a talent-gathering magnetic field to achieve the best use of talent. Third, the research institute should gather all kinds of innovative talents and build the complex into a harbor for talents to innovate and start businesses.

Also at the ceremony, Zhou Ji and Zhao Xiaoming gave lectures on digital intelligence and digital economy respectively.
