The International College organized the activity of "Feeling China"

On February 25, the International College, in conjunction with the Association of Overseas Chinese in Luqiao District, organized overseas students to go to Luqiao Shili Street and Pengjie Town to carry out the "Feeling China" practice. Wang Aiqin, the vice dean of the International College, the college teachers and more than 20 international students participated in the activity.

Luqiao Shili Street is the source of civilization of the thousand-year-old commercial capital. It not only carries the memory of development, but also builds a bridge between traditional culture and modernity. The straw weaving workshop of intangible cultural heritage inheritance located here is a vivid manifestation. The visiting international students were invited to participate in weaving grass fan. While enjoying the artistic creation, they sincerely admired the positive spiritual quality of the inheritors and had a more intuitive understanding of the development concept of "common prosperity". Wang Meili, a student from Uzbekistan, said: "As a traditional Chinese culture, straw weaving is not easy to retain and continue to innovate and develop. Its existence not only protects cultural heritage, but also promotes rural employment, reflecting Chinese wisdom."

Later, the teachers and students came to visit the Zhutang Museum in Pengjie Town and the "Gongfu Workshop" in Hongqi Granary in Xiaowufen Village. Chen Ruifu, a Tajik student, said: "I didn't expect there is such a beautiful place in rural China. I really want to know more about rural development stories". Mi Zhen, a Mexican student, said: "It is very good to return traditional culture to the countryside and match fashion elements, which not only attracts the old people in the village, but also caters to the tastes of young people." At the last stop of the trip, the teachers and students came to Pengjie Characteristic Agricultural Planting Base to investigate the cultivation of small tomatoes and taste them.

This practical activity aims to enrich the extracurricular life of international students and promote international students to actively integrate into Chinese social life. It is also aimed at helping international students understand the local culture of Taizhou more comprehensively and feel the development concept of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
