“Culture is the soul of a city. Historically, the three celebrities including Zheng Guangwen, a scholar adept at poetry, calligraphy and painting, Zhu Ziqing and Guo Moruo, two literary giants, have left their footprints in Linhai, which enjoys the reputation of ‘thousand-year city around, literary scholars abound’,” says Zhao Xiaoming. He comments that the accommodation of the artists’ colony by the side of Linghu Lake is a cultural heritage and innovation, which not only provides a new communication platform for contemporary artists to record the beauty of the earth with their vivid brush and colorful colors, but also opens a new artistic window for aesthetic art to be close to the public and integrated into public life. He hopes that both sides will take this opportunity to further expand the “circle of friends” of local excellent traditional culture, expand the city brand awareness, tell the story of Linhai well together and sing the strongest voice of local culture.

“Taizhou University—Linghu Lake Artists’ Colony is another fruitful achievement of deepening university-city cooperation between Linhai and Taizhou University. It is an important window to show the heritage of Linhai’s culture and artistic flavor,” says Lin Min. She adds that Linhai will continue to do its best to support the construction and development of Taizhou University—Linghu Lake Artists’ Colony and provide best services for the artists’ creation and exploration.
