Recently, Wenling City announced the results of the 2022 performance assessment for science and innovation platforms. Wenling Research Institute of Taizhou University was awarded an excellent grade, ranking among the top three in the city’s annual assessment of 17 colleges and universities participating in the science and innovation platform.
The year 2022 is a remarkable year for the University’s Wenling Research Institute. Leveraging the talent and technological advantages of Taizhou University, and oriented towards the development needs of Wenling industry, the Institute operates under the “1+N+X” model, which consists of one main research institute, multiple subsidiary research institutes, and various science and technology service teams. This approach has contributed to the high-quality development of Wenling’s industry and economy. Currently, the Institute has established two research centers focusing on advanced coating technology and new materials, as well as industrial data and high-end equipment. Additionally, it has formed six science and technology teams specializing in advanced coating materials, electromechanical equipment reliability and intelligence, and intelligent construction BIM, among others.
In 2022, the research institute successfully collaborated with over 50 enterprises in Wenling. It signed 23 technical cooperation contracts with a total value exceeding CNY6.4 million(or USD 1 million), of which 3.1 million has already been paid. Moreover, the Institute applied for 20 invention patents independently or jointly with Wenling enterprises. Thanks to these efforts, Wenling enterprises achieved recognition, winning the second prize of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. The Institute also facilitated the establishment of two doctoral innovation workstations in Taizhou for these enterprises. In terms of talent development, the Institute organized nine training sessions, with a total of 529 participants. It also recommended 25 students for internships and employment in Wenling enterprises, such as Leo Group, resulting in 12 direct employment placements.
Looking ahead to 2023, Wenling Research Institute will continue to embody its founding spirit of “being rooted in Wenling, vigorous, courageous, pioneering, and innovative". It will function as a vital link between the university and Wenling’s industries, making further contributions to the high-quality development of Wenling’s economy and society.
