Youth is all about “colorfulness and vibrancy”. College graduates, who are about to step into society, are the painters of their own lives who will use the palette in their hands to create splendid works. As a farewell message, President Le encouraged the graduates to write a glorious chapter of youth with persistent strive from three aspects by referring to the three colors (red, white and blue), in the University logo.
He said, “I hope that you will paint on the canvas of your youth with the brightest red color. Be patriotic, and serve the country with all your capabilities; learn the pioneering spirit, and strive to be the new generation of pioneers with loyalty, dedication, enterprise and collaboration; draw strength from the history of our university, and carry the lofty aspirations and sprint with all your might towards your goals.
I hope that you will polish the painting of your youth with the solemn white color. Be diligent in cultivating your virtues, and keep a clear mind in the face of temptations and setbacks; be humble, and ready to learn with an empty cup mentality; be patient, and accumulate strength for future progress; be brave, and embrace a spirit of courage and responsibility, so as to fearlessly rise to the occasion and tackle the toughest challenges.
I hope that you will add dazzle to the painting of your youth with the purest blue color. Take reading as a way of life and learning as an ongoing journey with a destination of constant improvement; embrace a spirit of relentless self-improvement, and turn it into a shining label on yourselves; keep a broad mind, and expand your horizons.”
