A historical breakthrough: students won special award in NECCS Provincial Competition

On June 8, 2023, the provincial competition of the National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) was successfully concluded. Five students from School of Foreign Languages, namely Huang Yinuo, Zhang Chenghang, Mo Yaling, Chen Houhua, and Sun Zhangye, participated in the competition. Among them, Huang Yinuo achieved a remarkable result by securing the 5th position in the B1 category with an impressive score of 112.5, thereby winning the Special Award. This achievement not only marks our students’ best performance thus far in NECCS, but also signifies a breakthrough by receiving the highest award in the competition. In addition, the remaining four students all received first awards in the C category.

The competition is an annual event that effectively fosters students’ interest in English learning, enhances their English listening, reading, writing, and translating abilities, and strengthens the foundation of academic development.
