University library won the Best Brand Award in Zhejiang’s Excellent Library Service Brand Selection

Recently, Zhejiang Province Society for Library Science announced the results of the 4th Excellent Library Service Brand, among which our library’s "Jiusi" won the Best Brand Award.

"Jiusi" is a brand to promote reading activities created by the library of Taizhou University in 2020, which is committed to promoting traditional culture, spreading cultural knowledge and exchanging academic ideas. It is recorded in the Analects of Confucius that there are nine objects which a wise man aims at. In the use of his eyes, his object is to see clearly. In the use of his ears, his object is to hear distinctly. In the expression of his look, his object is to be gracious. In his manners, his object is to be serious. In what he says, his object is to be sincere. In business, his object is to be earnest. In doubt, his object is to seek for information. In anger, his object is to think of consequences. In view of personal advantage, his object is to think of what is right. Story also has it that Ke Jiusi from Xianju County, a member of the Imperial Academy in the Yuan Dynasty, was erudite in poetry and good at calligraphy and painting.

After three years of preparation, cultivation and promotion, now “Jiusi” has established seven sub-brands, including Jiusi Forum, Jiusi Reading Club, Jiusi Book & Film Club, Jiusi Cloud Book Club, Jiusi Appreciation, Jiusi Recommended Reading and Jiusi Micro-lectures. With a comprehensive system, diversified activities and rich content, “Jiusi” has become the main channel to promote reading activities and cultural construction.

“Jiusi” series is one of the effective measures taken by the library in response to the school's promotion of the University-city Community and a “Large Study for Taizhou Citizens”, which is also a beneficial exploration and attempt in integrating into local areas and serving Taizhou. This award is an encouragement and recognition of the library's work in promoting reading and campus culture in recent years. The library will continue to enhance its brand influence and radiation force so as to promote reading and culture in Taizhou University.
