The third municipal organs’ badminton competition of Taizhou City concluded on June 20 at Taizhou Children’s Sports School, featuring 29 teams competing on the same stage. Taizhou University’s badminton team delivered outstanding performances and emerged as the champions.

In the team competition, the team secured the second position in the group stage, advancing to the quarterfinals. In an intense semifinal match against Taizhou Vocational & Technical College team, trailing by one set, our mixed doubles team fought tenaciously, making a remarkable comeback to level the score. Subsequently, our women’s doubles team showcased exceptional strength, ultimately triumphing over their opponents and securing a spot in the final.

Facing China Mobile in the final match, Taizhou University’s mixed doubles pair, Shen Jianmin and Pan Beibei, demonstrated brilliant performances. Under immense pressure, and with the opponent on the verge of victory, they employed clever cooperation and agile feints to outplay their opponents multiple times, eventually turning the tide and securing a stunning victory. Additionally, in the singles competition, Pan Beibei and Shen Jianmin from our university claimed the first place in women’s singles and the second place in men’s singles, respectively.

Throughout the competition, all the players displayed great enthusiasm and gave their utmost effort. They carefully reflected on their experiences after each match and demonstrated remarkable attacking and defensive skills, showcasing the energetic vitality and positive sportsmanship of Taizhou University staff.
