On September 13, the opening ceremony of the 2023 master’s degree students of Taizhou University was grandly held in the International Conference Hall.Le Chuanyong, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC University Committee and University President, Jin Xianlong, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC University Committee, and Zhao Xiaoming, the Member of the CPC University Committee and Vice University President,attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhao Xiaoming.
With the majestic national anthem, the opening ceremony began. In the melody of the school song “Towering Green Mountain, Lingering Lingjiang River”, the university leaders respectively pinned the university badges for the new student representatives from three degree programs. The bright and unique TU badges worn on the chest signify that 99 new students have officially joined Taizhou University, becoming a part of Taizhou University, symbolizing the students’ entry into a new journey in life, and indicating that the students will face greater challenges, shoulder heavier tasks, and undertake more glorious missions.
Professor Jin Zheng, representative of the graduate tutors from the Resource and Environment discipline, spoke on behalf of all tutors. Professor Jin first congratulated the students on successfully entering the gates of Taizhou University and beginning their deepened study in the graduate stage. He hopes that the new students will be firm in their ideals and beliefs, plan their academic careers well, systematically master the knowledge structure,gain insight into the forefront of the field, cultivate the ability to discover and solve problems, bravely shoulder the mission of the times, and strive for innovation and success.
Sun Mengqi, a joint-training graduate student from the Mechanical Engineering discipline, spoke on behalf of the senior students. She shared her study, life, and scientific research experiences at Taizhou University, and shared her gains and growth as a joint-training student at the university; at the same time, she also hopes that her juniors can “set a goal”, “contain two kinds of passion”, “harvest three kinds of beauty”, boldly pursue and run, and realize their dreams on the big stage of Taizhou University.
Xu Jiaming,the fresher representative from the Materials and Chemical Engineering discipline, gave his speech. He said that he would remember the spirit of the school motto “Develop your moral being and lead a virtuous life; Seize the time and opportunity upgrading your proficiency”, never forget his original aspiration, and move forward bravely. He firmly believes that under the university’s wholehearted cultivation and his own hard work, he will become a new era graduate student with responsibility, achievements, ideals and pursuits.
Le Chuanyong spoke on behalf of the university. He explained the dazzling light of each 2023 graduate student through three “ONE” shining labels; as a “tour guide”, he introduced the “beautiful ecological city”, “historical cultural city”, and “private economy model city” – Taizhou; as a “parent”, he welcomed the new graduate students to join the TU family that is “full of ambition and courage, daring to think and do, and brave to compete”. At the same time, Le Chuanyong hopes that graduate students will always bear in mind the motherland, concentrate on research, strengthen practice, bravely shoulder the mission of the times, improve academic ability, enhance service skills, and achieve a wonderful life worthy of the new era.
The heads of relevant functional departments, the main leaders of the Graduate training schools,tutor representatives, counselors, and teaching assistants, as well as all new graduate students of 2023 attended the ceremony.
