Evening party for freshmen and military trainers held

At nights of September 20 to 21, Taizhou University has successfully held the evening party for freshmen and their military trainers under the theme “TU has me @ Future”. The events took place in the auditorium of the Linhai campus and the huge auditorium of the Jiaojiang campus, respectively. Le Chuanyong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Taizhou University, Jin Xianlong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Jin Song, Member of the CPC Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, Wang Rong and Yang Fengxiang, the heads of the military training units on both campuses, attended the party. Various functional departments, leaders and teachers from secondary schools, military trainers, and over 2,000 freshmen of the year 2023 were present to watch the performances.

The opening of the evening party was accompanied by the melodious school hymn sung by the Jiuge Chorus. The university’s dance troupe presented a wonderful visual feast with their dance performance titled “Echoes”, featuring national-level intangible cultural heritage such as Wing Chun and Bagua. The recitation of the poem “Ideal” by international students together with Chinese students conveyed a strong vision of young people from both China and other countries working together and striving for their ideals. The instrumental ensemble “Shan Yu · Illusion” showcased a colorful portrayal of the beautiful mountains and rivers of motherland China and ignited the audience’s love for Chinese traditional culture. The promotional song for the Asian Games, “With You and Me”, expressed the youth’s anticipation and longing for the Hangzhou Asian Games. The dynamic melody of the aerobics routine “Moving Forward Together” performed by teachers Zhao Chan and Wang Xianglin, along with the university’s aerobics team, received thunderous applause from the audience and pushed the atmosphere of the party to its peak.

In the second half of the party, the skit “Discounts” humorously told the story that “Goods can be discounted, but not human hearts”, paying tribute to the workers and appealing to the young people of the new era to actively help others and strive for self-improvement. The song “The First Day” performed by six freshmen fully showcased the vitality and energy of our university’s freshmen. The dance “Orange Lanterns and River Ballad” depicted the folk customs of releasing orange lanterns in Huangyan, Taizhou, during the Song dynasty. The recitation of “Seeking Li Bai” portrayed the bold and tortuous life of Li Bai, displaying the poet’s extraordinary style and carefree sentiment. The song “New Boy” performed by the university’s first batch of registered postgraduate representatives encouraged us to face the future with a light-hearted and lively melody, always moving forward. The military trainers presented basic military skills, infantry special tactics, and choir performances with powerful voices and sharp, precise movements, which garnered continuous applause and cheers from the audience. The song and dance “Setting Off Again” concluded the party with its melodious and graceful singing and dancing, evoking people’s belief in striving for the future.

The party was co-hosted by the University’s Youth League Committee and the Student Art Troupe. It not only served as a special gift to the freshmen of 2023, expressing a warm welcome to the new students and the anticipation of embarking on a new chapter in their university life, but also conveyed sincere gratitude to the military trainers who have accompanied the freshmen under the scorching sun for several days. It is hoped that the freshmen will write the most beautiful youth chapters on the beautiful university campus, strengthen their skills, and grow into individuals with the qualities of “loyalty, dedication, progress, and cooperation” at Taizhou University.
