TU international students attend the 2023 Global Forum on Hehe Culture and deliver speeches

The 2023 Global Forum on Hehe Culture was held in Tiantai County on October 7, 2023. Led by Wang Aiqin, vice dean of the International School of Taizhou University, ten international students were invited to participate in the event.

People addressing the opening ceremony include Zhang Xuewei (Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), Yukio Hatoyama (former Japanese Prime Minister and Chairman of the East Asian Community Institute), Du Zhanyuan (President of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration), Irina Bokova (former Director-General of UNESCO), Li Xikui (Vice President of The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries), and Li Yueqi (Secretary of Taizhou Municipal Party Committee). Subsequently, Hehe World Initiative was officially launched, calling for concerted efforts to advance Hehe culture, promote global peace and sustainable development, and jointly build a community of shared future for mankind.

In the afternoon keynote speeches and sub-forum sessions, Hehe culture’s theoretical value, historical value and practical value were discussed among politicians from countries around the world, representatives from international organizations, foreign diplomatic envoys in China, international sinologists as well as experts and scholars from relevant think tanks, universities, and research institutions.

In the sub-forum of "Hehe Culture and Guidance of Common Values", BAKHRIDDINOVA GUZAL (Chinese name: Wang Meili), a student from Uzbekistan, made a speech on "Hehe Culture in My Eyes". She has studied in China for more than four years. Based on what she has seen and heard, she elaborated on the image of China in the eyes of an international student from the aspects of Chinese wisdom, Chinese governance and Chinese system. Having expressed her pride and sense of mission as an international student, she said she would devote herself to spreading Chinese culture and telling Chinese stories.

The forum aims to further implement the Global Civilization Initiative, carry forward fine Chinese culture, and promote exchanges and mutual learning among global civilizations. All the attending students have benefited much from the forum.

MONDAL MD SOJIB (Chinese name: Li Qiang), an international student from Bangladesh, said that Hehe Culture, which originated from Tiantai Mountain in Taizhou, is an important treasure of Chinese culture. In the face of great changes in the current world, the world is in expectation of the exchange of different ideas and mutual tolerance among different civilizations. Hehe Culture advocates peace, amity and harmony, which is of great significance to conflicts and wars. It is China's gift to the world and will offer new ideas for promoting the development of civilizations.

Iranian student YARBAKHTI HANA (Chinese name: Lin Hanna) said that it was a great honor to hear the interpretation of Chinese culture by experts and foreigners at the forum, and that she had learned a lot about Hehe culture at this event. The more she learned, the more she became interested in Hehe Culture. She would be committed to the spreading of Chinese culture.
