In order to strengthen the construction of the counselor team in higher education institutions and leverage the leading role of counselors in the development of students, the qualifying rounds of the first Zhejiang provincial college counselors’ singing contest were held in Wenzhou on November 17. The singing team “Taikoola” (which means so cool), including five counselors and five students, participated in the event and won the “Best Tacit Understanding Award”.
TU valued the preparation of this competition. Since October, the Student Affairs Department has invited the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities, Lin Junhui, as a mentor. The whole process, from the university-wide mobilization to the recruitment of contestants, and then to the preliminary selection, lasted nearly a month, during which the second-level schools have been consistently supportive of the singing team to optimize its performance. The quality of the works Huiniangjia (“Back to My Mother’s Home”) and Ruyuan (“As I Wish”) was steadily improved.
Our university’s “Taikoola” completed the performance of the song Huiniangjia, presenting a youthful and enthusiastic style, and finally entered the final qualifying round with 5 full votes. During ultimate qualifying session, five counselors polished the song Ruyuan, fully demonstrating the excellent style of TU’s academic workforce.
The preparation for the provincial college counselors’ singing contest is one of the important endeavors for us to deeply carry out the projects for educating people in the new era. It fully shows the passion and vitality of the counselors in the educational work on “cultivating morality and nurturing talents”. We are looking forward to the future when teachers unswervingly lead students to pursue their dreams on the road ahead.
