A fire drill for international students, co-organized by the International School and the Security Department of Taizhou University, was held on November 23rd. More than 100 students from the International School, along with some security and campus patrol personnel, participated in the activity.
During the event, staff from the Security Department demonstrated the proper use of fire hoses and provided detailed explanations of the steps and precautions for using dry powder fire extinguishers. Afterwards, the students entered a simulated fire scene and took up fire hoses, fire extinguishers, and other firefighting equipment. Following the operational requirements of “Pull, Lift and Press”, they worked in groups to extinguish the flames.
At the end of the drill, TAHMIDA RABEYA AKTER (Chinese name: Lin Xi), a student from Bangladesh, said, “Learning how to use fire extinguishers is necessary as it ensures our personal safety on campus. I feel appreciative and happy to have participated in this drill.”
Through this fire extinguishing drill, international students further enhanced their awareness of fire safety and improved their capabilities for dealing with emergencies when faced with fire incidents. As an essential measure toward promoting a safe campus, this event was a success.
