The exchange meeting between HK students in Zhejiang and TU students successfully held

The exchange meeting between Hong Kong students in Zhejiang and students at Taizhou University was held at the Multi-function Hall of the Entrepreneurship Park at Taizhou University on the evening of November 27th. Liu Mingde, Director of the Liaison Office of the HKSAR Government in Zhejiang Province, Li Junmin, Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Taizhou University, Liu Wenhui, Secretary of the Party Group of the Taizhou Municipal Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, and He Guozhang, Member of the CPCCC Taizhou Municipal Committee and General Manager of the Yaoda Hotel in Wenling, attended the event. Wei Bangpeng, a second-year doctoral student from Zhejiang University, and Qiu Yu, a student from Taizhou University, hosted the activity. Leaders from the Liaison Office of the HKSAR Government in Zhejiang, the Taizhou Municipal Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, as well as the United Front Work Department, the Youth League Committee, and the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office of Taizhou University, and nearly 50 representatives of Hong Kong students in Zhejiang and students at Taizhou University, attended the event.

The theme of the exchange meeting was “My Dream, My Hometown”. At the beginning of the event, Li Junmin briefly introduced the history and achievements of the university, and the exchange between the university and Hong Kong institutions. She hoped that the students would deepen their understanding through this exchange activity, tell the Hong Kong stories well in Taizhou University, and continuously strengthen the friendship between the two places through communication and interaction. At the same time, they could bring back the “Taizhou stories” and “Taizhou friendship” to Hong Kong and share their personal experiences with their relatives and friends so that more Hong Kong people can understand Taizhou and Taizhou University. Afterwards, Liu Mingde and He Guozhang delivered speeches. Liu Mingde hoped that the students would cherish their friendship, communicate and cooperate sincerely, make joint efforts, achieve personal growth through mutual learning, and become the protagonists of the new era. He Guozhang shared his struggles after leaving Hong Kong and coming to the mainland, talked about the rapid development and changes he witnessed in Taizhou, and expressed his hope for the students’ future endeavors.

During the free communication session, the University Youth League Committee organized an ice-breaking game called “Draw and Guess”. The participants on stage boldly gestured and used vivid body language to interpret guessing words that reflected the characteristics of both Hong Kong and Taizhou, while others used their imagination to guess the words. The applause and laughter came from the audience time and again. Students from both places got closer to each other and built a better understanding of each other through energetic competitions. Afterwards, student representatives from both places spoke on the theme of “My Dream, My Hometown”, expressing their insights and feelings about this collaborative journey and their experiences as new era university students. Finally, all participants took a group photo, marking a successful conclusion to the exchange meeting.

This event built a bridge of friendship between Hong Kong students in Zhejiang and students at Taizhou University, further deepening their mutual communication and understanding. It encourages students from both places to strive for success, progress together, make the most of their youth, and create a magnificent chapter in their youth.
