The closing ceremony of the 2023 Clubs and Societies Culture Festival with the theme of “Embrace vibrancy, ignite enthusiasm, unite youth in a new era!” was successfully held at the Zhishan Square on Jiaojiang Campus on December 3rd. Faculty from the University Youth League Committee and hundreds of students attended the event.
Various clubs and societies from both Jiaojiang and Linhai campuses, along with the Youth League Committee’s Affairs Center, took turns putting on a colorful array of performances, treating the entire audience to a visual and auditory feast. The opening act by the Arts Department of the Youth League Affairs Center, a medley of songs and dances, set the stage alive. Their graceful dance moves and impassioned songs showcased the vitality of youth, reflecting a vibrant campus culture. The Etiquette Department turned the stage into a runway with their elegant performance of “Here Waiting”. The Fengya Recitation Society read the ancient poem “Jian Jia” (The Reeds), creating an elegant realm reminiscent of the early autumn frost and the grace of a beautiful lady. The Wenyuan Chinese Studies Society presented a situational play titled “Next Stop, Guijia Road!” inspired by the trending topic of “Escaping from the British Museum”, vividly expressing a strong desire for the return of stolen artifacts.
The singing performances like Wu Junzhe’s “Like the Wind” and Cui Shuyang’s “The Flowers of War” elevated the atmosphere to a climax. The Autumn Maple Drama Society’s “An Encounter with the Butterfly Lovers” innovated traditional Yue opera, conveying rich cultural significance to the audience. The History Society’s play “The Eagle’s Strike at the Palace” expressed the tragic heroism and the vicissitudes of life. The GC Drama Society’s “How Many Voices Are in Your Heart” used the collision of black and white to depict the inner turmoil of love. The Traditional Sports and Martial Arts Clubs earned waves of applause with their superb lion dance and exciting martial arts. The ACE CREW and TY Street Dance Clubs showcased carefree dance moves, while the Latin Dance Club presented graceful and charming performances, each displaying unique characteristics of their respective clubs.
Throughout the closing ceremony, each club and society exhibited their unique features, bringing creativity and excitement to the campus cultural life of the students.
At the closing ceremony, commendations were also presented. The Nursing Association, the Qinyuanchun Handicraft and Production Association, and the Fengya Recitation Society earned the title of the Five-Star Campus Clubs/Societies. The Clinical Medicine Association, the Finance Society, the English Club, the Wenyuan Chinese Studies Society, and the Film Society were honored as the Four-Star Campus Clubs/Societies. The Peach and Plum Oratory Society, the Medical Laboratory Association, the Accounting Society, the Tennis Club, the Electronic Technology Association, the ACE CREW Street Dance Club, the Lu Lu Literature Society, the GC Drama Society, and the Debate and Eloquence Association received recognition as the Three-Star Campus Clubs/Societies.
The Clubs and Societies Culture Festival fully demonstrated the youthful spirit of TU students, highlighting the dynamic energy of student clubs and societies. It has become a crucial platform for fostering a thriving campus culture, supporting students’ growth and development, instilling cultural confidence, and promoting the comprehensive development of the broader youth student community.
