Three international students from Taizhou University, RAKHMATOV SHERZOD (Chinese name: Milannuo), TUYCHIEV ABDUNABI (Chinese name: Muyang), and ASHIROVA GULBAKHAR (Chinese name: Qifan), won the National First Prize of International Student Group in the 6th SFLEP Cup National College Students’ Intercultural Competence Contest, breaking the record of the university’s performance in this contest. The final results of the contest were announced on December 3rd.
After a series of selections, the TU international student team entered the finals due to their outstanding performance. During the preparation period, their guiding teachers, Dai Min, Cai Haiyan, Chen Haixia and Xu Yuyan, led the students to practice at places such as the China International Import Expo and the Liangzhu Culture Museum. In the preliminary round, the TU teams won the Provincial First Prize of International Student Group and the Provincial Third Prize of Chinese Student Group. In the finals, Dai Min and Cai Haiyan made full efforts and cooperated with the players to analyze the previous competitions, and finally formulated targeted strategies for the finals.
The SFLEP Cup National College Students’ Intercultural Competence Contest provides a platform for teachers and students from colleges and universities across China to demonstrate their cross-cultural communication competence and teaching experience. The contest includes the analysis of cases, on-site Q&A, on-site scenario evaluations, and telling Chinese stories. The national finals of this contest were held at Hunan Normal University. 52 Chinese student teams and 20 international student teams stood out from 741 higher educational institutions in 23 provinces and cities across the country and qualified for the national finals. Among them, 18 Chinese student teams and 7 international student teams qualified for the finals.
