Taizhou University organized the annual alumni homecoming event on December 9. Nearly 700 alumni from all over the country gathered at the university to participate in the night reading at the Xinhu Lake, the donation ceremony of alumni writings, the alumni salon activities, the Preparatory Work Exchange Meeting of the TU Alumni Association in Lishui and the Fund Donation Ceremony of the TU Alumni Association in Ningbo, the first “Home-Linking Cup” Alumni Table Tennis Team Competition, the first Alumni Walking Event, the alumni seminars, and so on, reminiscing about friendship and discussing the development.

On the evening of December 8, alumnus Mr. Zhao Zongbiao and his wife Wang Han, also an alumnus, were invited to “Xinhu Lake Night Reading” to read two books, Interesting Zhejiang and The Mountains, Rivers, Old Friends. Pan Tongtian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Taizhou University, attended the event. Zhao Zongbiao and Wang Han introduced the cause of their own creations and personal interests, reminisced about the academic atmosphere of college years, emphasized the importance of reading, and hoped that the teachers and students present read more books, especially good books.
10 alumni donated books
Alumni writings donation ceremony was held in the library of Jiaojiang Campus on the morning of December 9th. Pan Tongtian attended and issued collection certificates for donors. Ten alumni, including Wang Jianbo, You Fuchu, Zhang Hongjie, Zhao Zongbiao, Wang Han, Zhang Yunlong, Ge Dan, Zheng Guangkuo, Zhang Wenzhi, and Lin Dayue, donated more than 300 copies of their personal writings to the university.
The first session of the Alumni’s Reception Room Activity initiated
“No matter how high the status or how old you are, when you return to your alma mater, you are a senior brother or sister, a peer and a big friend across time and space.” With the opening remarks of the host, alumnus Zhang Wenzhi, the first session of the Alumni’s Reception Room Activity got initiated. Six alumni, including Wang Jianbo, Zhao Zongbiao, Wang Han, Zhang Yunlong, Ge Dan, Zhang Wenzhi, and Lin Dayue, attended the activity. They recalled the time of studying in their alma mater, shared their stories about literature based on their own reading and creative experiences, and sent the message to their younger schoolmates to keep reading, maintain their love for it, keep cultivating the ability to think independently and the ability to perceive the beauty of the world, and chase their dreams with hard work and effort, so as to become a better version of themselves.
The Preparatory Work Exchange Meeting of the TU Alumni Association in Lishui successfully held
The Preparatory Work Exchange Meeting of the TU Alumni Association in Lishui and the Fund Donation Ceremony of the TU Alumni Association in Ningbo were successfully held in Conference Room 407 of the Administration Building on the afternoon of December 9th. Li Junmin, Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Taizhou University as well as Vice President of Taizhou University Alumni Association, conferred the flag to the preparatory group of the TU Alumni Association in Lishui. At the meeting, the TU Alumni Association in Ningbo donated CNY1 million to the university for the establishment of the Special Fund of the TU Alumni Association in Ningbo, which will reward outstanding students, subsidize students and reward outstanding teachers for “three-overall education” in ten years. Alumnus Wang Xiong donated CNY500,000 to the university in his personal name to set up a special fund for the Home-Linking alumni activities, which will support the development of alumni events and activities in ten years.

On December 9th, the first “Home-Linking Cup” Alumni Table Tennis Team Competition was held at Linhai Campus Sports Ground. Eight alumni teams, including Hangzhou Alumni Team, Shaoxing Alumni Team, Ningbo Alumni Team, Lishui Alumni Team, Taizhou Alumni Team, Jiaxing Alumni Team, Wenzhou Alumni Team, and Taizhou University Staff Team, took part in the competition. Wang Zheng, Member of the CPC committee and Vice President of Taizhou University, attended the opening and closing ceremonies and presented awards to the winning teams.
In addition, a series of back-to-school activities were carried out at various locations of the two campuses in Jiaojiang and Linhai. The university academic schools organized a variety of activities, such as alumni reunions, alumni mentor appointment meetings, alumni symposiums, alumni special seminars, and faculty “family” yearly celebrations.
