Listening to Youth 1139: University President Le and his university dreams

The 99th “Listening to Youth 1139” was held in the Party Building Center of the university on the afternoon of December 26. The event was sponsored by the Student Union of the university and organized by the Youth League Society of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Le Chuanyong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Taizhou University, was invited to be the guest of this event, talking with students about “My University Dreams”. Pan Yao, Secretary of the University Youth League Committee, and Lin Lin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, attended the event.

President Le Chuanyong took his own study and work experience as the starting point and shared the positive influence of reading and studying on personal development. He urged students to draw from their personal study and work experiences, emphasizing the positive impact of education on personal development. He encouraged students to set ambitious goals and analyzed future employment prospects. While preparing for postgraduate exams could be a valuable goal, he stressed that cultivating diverse abilities, such as interpersonal skills and management coordination, as well as engaging in public welfare activities, could significantly boost their growth and progress. By leveraging social practices to enhance their sense of responsibility, students could contribute to the Chinese nation’s rejuvenation and realize their potential as “doers”.

In the interactive exchange session, Le Chuanyong made an in-depth exploration of the issues raised by the students, such as “how to combine university development and personal development”, “how to improve the efficiency of the use of vacation time”, “how to choose the direction of your future development” and other issues for in-depth discussion and analysis. He said that Taizhou University is taking solid steps on the new journey of “upgrading the university, applying for the doctor’s degree conferring programs, and striving for the first-class”. He said that it will give the students of the university a broader development space with a more beautiful campus, a better quality student source, and more excellent achievements. He suggested that students could actively participate in the professional projects of the full-time faculty team during the holidays to enrich their experience and improve their abilities. He hoped that students would leave room for trial and error when facing decisions and decide the most suitable path for themselves by combining their inner thoughts with realistic practices.

“Time does not set limits for those who work hard”, which means that those who work hard always have no regrets, and those who struggle will eventually bring their dreams into reality. At the end of the event, Le Chuanyong encouraged students to study hard with their dreams and wished them success in their studies and a bright future.
