Fifteen representatives of the doctoral teachers who joined the university in 2020 reported on their teaching, research, and social service achievements over the past three years. They shared their research and teaching experiences and proposed their future work plans, clarifying their career development directions.

Li Junmin, Vice President and Member of the TU Party Committee, attended the forum and delivered a speech.

Li Junmin commented positively on the achievements of the doctoral teachers in teaching, research, and social services, and expressed her gratitude for their dedication and efforts. She stated that the university will make efforts to improve the morale of teachers, reform talent-related mechanisms, and optimize the working environment in accordance with the requirements of the Provincial Party Committee for the construction of the “three teams” to create an environment conducive to the comprehensive development of talents. Li elaborated on three key points regarding academic research and career development: first, to innovate and maintain an interest in pursuing the truth. It pays always maintaining the passion and interest in scientific research, finding joy in tedious research, delving into one’s own research field, continuously innovating, and making outstanding contributions to the development of disciplines and technological innovation. Second, to strengthen cooperation and leverage various resources. One had better conduct organized research, actively learn from top PI teams within the university, seize opportunities to integrate into them, jointly tackle research challenges, and be adept at tapping into networking resources to conduct diversified collaborative research, thereby achieving comprehensive development and improvement in teaching and research. Third, to focus on learning and continuously improve one’s own abilities. In the rapidly changing era of knowledge, one would better always maintain a learning attitude, make good use of policies such as supported study visits and overseas training provided by the university, continuously improve capabilities, and achieve mutual promotion and improvement in learning and abilities.

Li said that the university will continue to care for the improvement of doctoral teachers. Relevant functional departments and secondary schools would be required to continuously strengthen service awareness. University policies and systems would be revised and improved so that every doctoral teacher could find their sense of belonging, realize their value and achieve success here.

Heads of secondary schools and relevant functional departments attended the forum.
