Zhu Jian delivered a speech for the event. He said that the inauguration of the exhibition hall of “Where Did We Start?—Exhibition of Rare Revolutionary Archives” is a powerful initiative to enhance the ideological leadership, educational appeal and consultative service of Party history, a way of practicing the university motto of “Develop your moral being and lead a virtuous life; Seize the time and opportunity upgrading your proficiency”, and an unremitting exploration of expanding the ideo-political education frontline. For the next stage of work, he emphasized that full play should be given to the integrated educational roles of the exhibition halls, the development of these halls into an important position for on-site teaching of ideo-political courses, and creative transformation of the revolutionary resources into those for ideo-political education. He pointed out the importance of lecturer team construction, so that they not only tell the big story of the Chinese nation, the Communist Party of China, the People’s Republic of China, and socialism with Chinese characteristics, but also tell the story of Zhejiang, the story of Taizhou, and the story of Taizhou University. Efforts should be made in strengthening the local cultural research and interpretation, the construction of scientific research platforms, attracting and introducing high-level publicity and cultural talents, supporting high-quality development with advanced cultural force, and promoting the influence of high-quality culture.

Zheng Hao, Executive Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee, delivered a speech.

Zheng Hao said in his speech that the exhibition hall shows the efforts of Taizhou University in practicing Xi Jinping’s lectures on doing a good archive job in the new era. It is a landmark achievement for the university to activate revolutionary archives, inherit revolutionary genes, and safeguard the revolutionary roots, providing a new platform for the university to play a role in revolutionary archival consultation and education, and making ideo-political practice classes more attractive and influential. It is hoped that the university will make good use of revolutionary archival documents, give full play to the role of the university’s ideo-political education practice base, and further learn and make good use of the Party history, educating to enlighten, influence, and inspire people with the glorious Party history. Ways and methods should be innovated to deepen publicity and education, inherit the value genes, and let teachers and students further understand the original aspirations and missions of the Party, strengthen the foundation of faith, supplement the spirit, and steer the helm of thought more securely. Revolutionary archival resources should be combined with Party member education and ideo-political education for teachers and students, so as to promote diligent study and practice, and lead the majority of young students to establish a sense of patriotism, take on the mission of youth in the new era and new journey, and consciously devote themselves to the great practice of Chinese-style modernization.

Hu Yuanchao, Deputy Director of Zhejiang Provincial Archives, delivered a speech.

Hu Yuanchao emphasized that revolutionary archives carry the struggles of the Party, and inherit the original aspirations and missions of the communists. He pointed out that ideological education in colleges and universities is not only an important part of cultivating socialist builders and successors, but also a responsibility for the new generation in shaping the Chinese nation. As one of the organizers of the exhibition, the Provincial Archives is dedicated to bringing the revolutionary archives out of the “library gate” and into the “school gate”. This initiative aims to transform students’ relatively familiar knowledge into a sense of “freshness”, and move the classroom away from pure theoretical indoctrination. By doing so, teachers and students can “touch” the footprints of their forefathers’ struggles without leaving the campus, gaining a deep understanding of the Party’s glorious history, principles, and values. Hu Yuanchao expressed hope that Taizhou University will effectively utilize this educational platform to enhance the integration of archive education, Party and national history education, and ideological education. This integration will make college classrooms more engaging and dynamic, ensuring the continuation of the revolutionary roots and the passing down of revolutionary genes through generations. The Provincial Archives will continue to leverage revolutionary archive resources to provide robust support for colleges and universities, empowering ideo-political education and enabling the revolutionary archives to contribute significantly to the advancement of the society and the creation of a new chapter in history.
