The Closing Ceremony of the 4th Party Congress of Communist Party of China Taizhou University

On the afternoon of April 25, the 4th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Taizhou University (TU) was closed at the Grand Hall after completing the scheduled agenda.

The congress voted to adopt the election methods and the list of supervisors and chief supervisors. The 184 delegates attending the meeting elected the members of the 4th Committee and the members of the new Discipline Inspection Committee of TU’s Communist Party of China in line with the provisions of the Constitution of the Party, by differential election and secret ballot. At the first plenary meeting of the new Party Committee and Discipline Inspection Committee held afterwards, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the 4th Committee as well as the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the new Discipline Inspection Committee of TU’s Communist Party of China were elected.

The General Assembly deliberated on and approved the report by the 3rd Committee of the CPC TU “Uniting and Striving for Accelerating the Completion of the University of Taizhou”, and the report by the Discipline Inspection Committee of the CPC TU “Comprehensively Strengthen Party Discipline in the Spirit of Self-reform to Provide a Strong Guarantee for Completing the University of Taizhou”.

Zhu Jian gave a closing speech. He said that this is a conference of remaining true to our original aspirations and keeping our mission firmly in mind, and also the one of rallying strength and pressing ahead with courage and determination. The meeting further stimulated the morale of party members and teachers, as well as gathered up the great power to speed up the construction of Taizhou University. It will exert an important and far-reaching impact on a new round of leapfrog high-quality development,

Zhu Jian pointed out that the General Assembly comprehensively summarized the university’s achievements over the past five years, analyzed the existing problems and weaknesses, and put forward new development goals, determined the development strategy, and clarified the thinking and key tasks of future work on the basis of the new mission of the locally application-oriented university. The reports approved by the General Assembly demonstrate collective wisdom, fully reflect the common aspiration of the whole university, and are programmatic documents guiding the work of the university at the present and future stages. The 4th CPC TU Committee and the new Discipline Inspection Committee elected by the General Assembly have enriched the strength of the “two committees”, reflecting the advancement and representativeness of all parties, and providing a solid organizational guarantee for realizing the strategy proposed by the General Assembly.

On behalf of the newly elected members of the Party Committee and Discipline Inspection Committee, Zhu Jian stated that, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, the two committees would enhance the “Four Consciousnesses”, bolster the “Four Confidences”, and ensure the “Two Upholds”; keep school running principle in alignment with socialism, thoroughly implement the party’s education policy, and perform the fundamental tasks of establishing moral education; dedicate to strengthening self-construction of the party committee and discipline inspection committee by constantly enhancing the ability and improving work style with self-discipline, endeavoring to live up to the organization’s entrustment, and the expectations of teachers and students.

Zhu Jian expected party organizations at all levels and all the party representatives to promote the spirit of the meeting, and implement the goals and tasks proposed by the Party Congress, and further gather the wisdom and strength of all teachers and students after the conference, working together to accelerate the construction of Taizhou University.
