A snapshot of the meeting
A group of 21 people from the Association of Jiaojiang Talents at Shanghai, led by President Ye Dejian and Honorary President Fang Kongjia, came to visit Taizhou University (TU) on the afternoon of May 16th. Zhu Jian, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) TU Committee, Le Chuanyong, President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, Li Junmin, Vice President and Member of the CPC TU Committee, Han Deman, Vice President, Zheng Lijun, Member of the CPC TU Committee and Director of the Personnel Department, as well as heads of relevant schools and departments of the university, attended the event. The meeting was chaired by Li Junmin.
Zhu Jian delivers a welcome speech
At the meeting, Zhu Jian, representing TU, warmly welcomed the visiting guests. He mentioned that, through the Association’s efforts, a cooperation contract had been signed between TU and the School of Pharmacy of Fudan University. This collaboration involved several experts lecturing at TU and sending a “hometown gift package” to foster integration with the local industry, thereby providing additional impetus for development. He expressed sincere hopes that both sides, guided by the principle of “complementary advantages, resource sharing, and win-win cooperation”, would deepen collaboration in teaching and research, discipline and specialty construction, talent introduction, faculty development, and social service. He emphasized the need to expand cooperation, improve cooperative mechanisms, and strengthen camaraderie among compatriots, aiming to propel TU towards becoming a top-tier applied university and advance higher education in Taizhou.
Le Chuanyong introduces TU
Le Chuanyong, after introducing the university, pointed out that, in recent years, the university has been strengthening connotation construction, serving local development, implementing the development strategy of “upgrading the university to a higher level, applying for doctoral degree programs, and striving for a first-class university”, and sticking to the goal of “accelerating the construction of TU”. Great progress has been made in terms of party construction, cadre team construction, discipline and specialty development, scientific research and innovation, talent introduction, local service, and cooperative education. He hoped that all the Jiaojiang talents would continue to support the development of TU and make more valuable suggestions.
Fang Kongjia introduces the Fellowship Association
Mr. Fang Kongjia briefly introduced the association and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and thoughtful reception at TU, which served as the first destination for experts and professors from Shanghai returning to their hometowns to serve in 2024. He emphasized that advancing Taizhou’s high-quality economic and social development is a shared aspiration and mission among Jiaojiang intellectuals at Shanghai. He expressed his hope that the association would deepen its collaboration with TU, further exploring opportunities to recommend high-quality medical, scientific, educational, and cultural resources, attract exceptional talents and academic leaders, and engage in teaching, research, and academic exchanges.
Cooperation agreement signing ceremony
At the meeting, on behalf of TU, Han Deman signed a cooperation agreement between Taizhou University and School of Pharmacy of Fudan University with Wang Jianxin, Secretary of the CPC Committee of School of Pharmacy of Fudan University. Experts from Shanghai offered their suggestions and advice on the “joint training of young teachers and graduate students”, “basic science research and transformation of scientific research results”, “university-locality collaborative innovation of pharmacy education”, “building the 2.0 version of cooperation between the two sides”, and “promoting the development of new productivity with human resources”.
After the meeting, several experts delivered lectures in the relevant schools of TU.
It is learned that the Association of Jiaojiang Talents at Shanghai was founded in 2001, totaling 94 members. The association consists mainly of experts and professors, educators, science and technology workers, medical workers and outstanding talents in various industries working at Shanghai. They have given great care and love for the development of their hometown Taizhou.
