The Inauguration Ceremony of the 3rd Phase Project of TU’s Jiaojiang Campus was held at the Youth Square on the morning of July 1st. Deputy Mayor Yang Lingling announced the commencement of the project, and Secretary of the CPC TU Committee Zhu Jian delivered a speech. University President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC TU Committee Le Chuanyong presided over the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by 8 related officials from the municipal government, including Guan Bingyang, Director of Taizhou Municiapl Construction Bureau, Lin Jianbin, Second-level Researcher of Taizhou Municipal Education Bureau, Wang Jingjing, Deputy Director of Taizhou Municipal Finance Bureau, Zheng Heliang, Fourth-level Researcher of Taizhou Municipal Development and Reform Bureau and Chairman of Taizhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Sun Tianbo, Deputy Chief of Jiaojiang District People’s Government, Zhou Haiqiang, Director of the Urban and Rural Planning Department of Taizhou Municipal Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, and Zhang Wenshuai, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Jiajia Street, Jiaojiang District, along with the leadership, teachers and students of TU, and representatives from the design, supervision, and construction contracting units.
The third phase of the project plans to build a graduate student apartment complex, a second dining hall and a scientific experiment building. According to the overall arrangement of relevant departments, the implementation of the 3rd Phase Student Dormitory Construction Project (Graduate Apartment) of TU’s Jiaojiang Campus was first arranged. The Graduate Apartment and the 2nd Dining Hall are scheduled to open in September 2026. After the completion of the project, it will provide students with a better learning and living environment, promoting the high-quality development of the city’s higher education infrastructure.

Amid the opening ceremony where flags were flying and firecrackers set off in lively atmosphere, the leaders and guest representatives jointly laid the foundation stone and dug the ground, marking the official start of the project.

The commencement of the 3rd Phase Project of TU’s Jiaojiang Campus is not only a major event to promote the high-quality development of the city’s higher education infrastructure, but also a happy event to improve the university’s educational conditions and enhance the well-being of teachers and students. It is hoped that the project owner units and construction entities can strive for timely completion of all tasks at high level; relevant departments at municipal and district levels can ensure efficient coordination and strengthened cooperation in a timely manner to address any issues encountered during project implementation. Focus on its goal of upgrading to a university, applying for doctoral programs, and establishing top-tier disciplines, TU should use the three-phase project construction to drive significant leaps in development, thus contributing significantly to the high-quality development of higher education in Taizhou, according to Yang Lingling.

Zhu Jian, on behalf of the university’s Party committee and staff, expressed the highest respect and sincere gratitude to all sectors of the society that have always shown concern for and supported the development of TU. He said that the commencement of the 3rd Phase Project of TU’s Jiaojiang Campus marks another solid step forward in the university’s efforts to enhance educational quality and optimize teaching environment. We will work together with the design, supervision, and construction contracting units with the support of relevant municipal departments and Jiaojiang district to promote the project construction with high quality and efficiency. At the same time, we will seize the opportunity of expanding the scale of our university’s facilities to enhance the quality of our existing work and increase the volume of our in-depth work, living up to the expectations of the municipal party committee and government with faster development and making greater contributions to the high-quality development of regional economy and society.
At the ceremony, Xu Jianwei, Deputy General Manager of Taizhou Social Development Group, introduced the project’s general situation; Liang Jian, chairman of Zhejiang Zhenyue Construction Co., Ltd., the construction contracting unit, made a pledge speech.

As is known, the 3rd Phase Student Dormitory Construction Project of TU’s Jiaojiang campus is among the first batch of green building materials pilot projects in Taizhou City. With a total construction area of 59,500 square meters, it is expected to build 1,098 dormitories accommodating 4,172 students.
