2024 Global Forum on Hehe Culture with the theme of “Hehe Culture and New Form of Human Civilization” was held on November 2 in Tiantai. Nearly 300 Chinese and foreign guests from more than 30 countries around the world carried out in-depth dialogues on civilization exchanges, promoted civilization exchanges and mutual understanding, and manifested the spirit of the Hehe Culture, which is a win-win situation. The forum invited former foreign dignitaries, representatives of international organizations, international friends, mayors of friendly cities, leaders at the central, provincial, municipal and county levels to participate in the forum, while five sub-forums were held at the same time.

Zhu Jian, Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the forum and presided over the sub-forum on “Coexistence in Harmony to Promote the Innovative Development of Chinese Civilization”. Li Jianjun, Vice President and Member of the CPC TU Committee, delivered a keynote speech on “Hehe Culture in the Mutual Learning of Chinese and Western Civilizations”. TU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Arturo Prat University of Chile to further strengthen the foundation of high-quality cooperation between Chinese and foreign universities.

Sub-forum on “Coexistence in Harmony to Promote the Innovative Development of Chinese Civilization”

The sub-forum hosted by Zhu Jian was organized by the Institute of Hehe Culture of TU, which took “harmony and coexistence” as the core concept and traced the lineage of Harmony and Culture. It explored the new form of human civilization of Harmony and Coexistence, advanced the innovation and development of Chinese civilization, and provided theoretical support for the creation of China’s independent discourse system. Guo Huawei, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Social Sciences Circles, and Pan Junming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee and Minister of Publicity Department, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches, and Lu Cairong, Vice President of China Publishing Association and Former Deputy Director of Foreign Languages Bureau of China, was hired as the advisor of Tiantai Hehe Culture Foundation.

Professor Chen Lixu, Former Vice President of Zhejiang Provincial Party School, Professor Peng Yongjie, Director of Renmin University of China Confucius Institute and President of China Realism Research Society and Hopewell Culture Professional Committee, and other five experts made keynote speeches, contributing wonderful remarks that ignited a collision of ideas regarding the research, heritage, innovation, dissemination of Hehe Culture. In addition, at the event, the appointment ceremony of the consultant of Tiantai Hehe Culture Foundation was held, the book release of Creative Transformation and Innovative Development of Chinese Hehe Culture was launched, and awards were presented to the winners of the 2024 Outstanding Papers.

Relevant personnel from TU’s Humanities and Social Sciences Department, School of Humanities, School of Foreign Languages, School of Art and Design, and Taizhou Institute of Hehe Culture and other departments and schools attended the forum.
