Talking with delegations from Kielce Poland and Iquique Chile

Bartlomiej Zapala, Deputy Mayor of Kielce, Poland, Martinez Quezada Alberto Alejandro, President of Arturo Prat University of Chile, and Valentin Humberto Volta Valencia, Executive Vice President of University of Alba, Antofagasta Campus of Chile, accompanied by Mr. Liu Wenhui, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Foreign Affairs Office of Taizhou Municipal People’s Government, visited TU on November 4. Yue Chuanyong, President of TU and Deputy Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, met with the delegations from Kielce and Iquique. The meeting was presided over by Li Jianjun, Vice President and Member of the CPC TU Committee.

Yue Chuanyong welcomed the delegations and introduced TU, focusing on the school-running characteristics, scientific research, talent cultivation and internationalization. Yue Chuanyong said that the cities of Kielce and Taizhou have a long-term basis for cooperation and exchange, and Arturo Prat University and University of Alba are Chilean higher education institutions with strong strength and rich experience in school running. He hoped that through the talks, the universities could further build up a consensus, seek for a more pragmatic way of cooperation, and achieve more effective cooperation results, so as to lay a solid foundation for cooperation and exchange in the future.

Bartlomiej Zapala expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of TU. He said that Kielce attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities, and that Kielce universities and TU share common academic background and development strategy. He hoped that this visit would be an opportunity to promote exchanges of teachers and students and scientific research cooperation between Kielce universities and TU.

Martínez Quezada Alberto Alejandro gave a brief introduction of Arturo Prat University’s schooling and scientific research fields. He said that Arturo Prat University attaches great importance to the cooperation with TU and hopes that the two sides will closely contact and strengthen communication to realize complementary advantages and mutual benefits.

Valentin Humberto Volta Valencia, Executive Vice President of University of Alba Antofagasta, delivers a speech

Valentin Humberto Volta Valencia introduced the school-running characteristics and scientific research advantages of University of Alba, and looked forward to carrying out mutual assignment of students, academic exchanges and cooperation with our university.

At the meeting, representatives of both sides had a warm discussion on carrying out faculty and student exchanges and academic exchanges, building international joint laboratories, and carrying out joint training programs for students, and reached a consensus.

After the meeting, the delegations from Kielce and Iquique visited Taizhou Biomedical and Chemical Industry Research Institute, Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for High Performance Industrial Pumps and Vacuum Equipment, University Library, and College Student Entrepreneurship Park of TU.

Iquique delegation visits TU Library

The cities of Kielce and Taizhou have long been carrying out in-depth exchanges in the fields of exhibition, commerce and culture, and were concluded as friendship cities in 2016. The Mayor of Kielce, Mr. Wojciech Lubawski, led a Polish delegation of 24 people visited TU. On November 2 this year, in the sub-forum Hehe Culture and Friendship Cities Cooperation Forum of the 2024 Global Forum on Hehe Culture, Li Jianjun, Vice President of TU, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with Martinez Quezada Alberto Alejandro and Valentin Humberto Volta Valencia on behalf of TU, Arturo Prat University and University of Alba respectively. The visit of the delegations from Kielce and Iquique to TU not only enhanced the understanding between these universities but also established a deep friendship and expanded the channels of international exchanges. In the future, more exchange results are expected.
