The Education Working Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee recently announced the list of “Double Leaders” Teacher Party Branch Secretaries of the “Powerful Country” Special Action Team for the province’s universities. The third Party branch of the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, the staff Party branch of the School of Art and Design, and the construction and municipal faculty Party branch of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture were successfully selected. In July this year, the Ministry of Education of China and the Education Working Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee successively made arrangements for the implementation of the “Double Leaders” Teacher Party Branch Secretary “Powerful Country” special action in colleges and universities. The Party Committee of TU organized five eligible Party branches to carry out the application work at the first time. So far, all five branches have been selected with two designated as national-level branches.
The Party Committee of TU has always attached great importance to the cultivation and development of “Double Leaders” as Party branch secretaries among teachers. The university vigorously implements a “Double Leaders” construction system featuring “Party Committee leadership, benchmark guidance, and institutional guarantees,” boldly practices the reform of “establishing branches within teams,” effectively strengthens and nurtures the “leading geese” of Party branches, and focuses on cultivating a series of grass-roots Party building brands such as “Xiaobing Dajiang e-Road Journey” and “T-Beams Mobilization.”
Party branch members delve into local enterprises to help solve problems
The third Party branch of the faculty of the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering adheres to the working philosophy of “integrating into Taizhou, basing itself in Zhejiang, and facing the whole country,” fully implements the “Three Combinations and Three Sources” working mechanism, and continuously strengthens the role of “Double Leaders.” Relying on the industrial advantages of the national API base in Taizhou’s pharmaceutical and chemical industry, the university actively creates a work brand of “two-way leadership and dual-wheel drive” for Party building that integrates services for local areas. The university focuses on the development needs of Taizhou’s industries and the pain points, difficulties, and bottlenecks faced by enterprises, collaborating on industry-wide common problems, establishing government-industry-academia-research bases, and forming think tank teams to provide scientific decision-making and consulting services for local governments and industry enterprises. The third Party branch of the faculty has been selected as a model branch for Party building in universities across the province, a construction unit for the “Double Leaders” teacher Party branch secretary studio, and a typical case of joint Party building among universities, enterprises, and local governments. The branch has formed six “1139 Technology Squads,” with over 1,000 person-times participating in scientific and technological services, undertaking more than 100 projects entrusted by enterprises, completing over 40 scientific and technological achievements transformations, and increasing economic benefits for enterprises by hundreds of millions of yuan. Party branch members have won two second-prize awards for provincial scientific and technological progress. Party branch team creates the “Youxi Youwu” Regional Public Brand for Youxi Town
The staff Party branch of the School of Art and Design focuses on the political and organizational functions of grass-roots Party organizations, fully taps into the interdisciplinary, open, and service-oriented advantages of the design discipline, adheres to the concept of a “university-locality community,” and explores and practices brands such as “Art Journey Together” and the “1139 Rural Revitalization Design Technology Squad.” Through the “Party Building + Three Actions and Four Combinations” and “Four Ones” Party building thematic actions, the school closely focuses on the three keys of “design empowerment + beautiful countryside + common prosperity,” deeply engages in local industrial transformation and upgrading and the construction of “harmonious and beautiful villages,” establishes more than 10 industry-university-research cooperation platforms, and implements over 200 local service projects. The Party branch and its practices have been selected as units for cultivating and establishing model branches for Party building in universities across the province, projects for “Hundreds of Art Departments’ Party Branches Jointly Building Villages,” and typical cases for supporting rural revitalization. The branch’s team has obtained five national scientific research projects, seven projects from the Ministry of Education, and over ten other projects above the provincial level; it has been selected for one provincial key laboratory demonstration center construction project, two provincial platforms, one municipal key major, and seven provincial first-class courses; it has been approved for over 50 national patents and received more than ten million yuan in project funding.
Party branch focuses on promoting the beautiful town construction of Sanjia Street
The Party Branch of Teaching Staff in Architecture and Municipal Engineering at the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture closely revolves around the rural revitalization strategy, promotes integrated services of “staying in villages, building villages, and assisting villages” with “Party building collaboration” as the guide, deeply practices the concept of symbiotic development between universities and cities, and implements “organized scientific research” with high quality. In the past three years, party member teachers in the branch have successfully applied for three National Natural Science Foundation of China - Youth Projects, published over 40 high-quality papers, completed a total of more than 120 vertical and horizontal research projects, with funded amounts totaling more than 12 million yuan, and successfully applied for over 60 invention patents, utility models, and other patents. Led by party members, the branch’s rural volunteer construction team and the “Five Waters” co-management team have carried out rural living environment improvement initiatives and “zero direct discharge of sewage areas” construction. They have visited local villages, participated in services over 200 person-times, benefited more than 1.18 million villagers, provided more than 100 construction and renovation plans for more than 20 villages, and won 10 gold, 9 silver, and 4 bronze awards at the provincial rural revitalization competition. More than 20 projects have been successfully implemented, directly benefiting over 40,000 villagers. The branch has innovated a dual-support model combining “willpower” and “wisdom,” organizing volunteers to conduct theoretical presentations in villages, communities, and enterprises more than 20 times. The “Little Engineers” practice team has appeared multiple times on Zhejiang TV and Taizhou Comprehensive News, earning over 180,000 likes. The branch has been selected for the provincial “100 Art Departments’ Party Branches Collaborating with Villages for Joint Construction” project.
TU Party Committee will continue to be guided by the thoughts of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, further improve its working mechanisms, strengthen work responsibilities, enhance overall guidance and management, reinforce resource support, and advance the selected Party branches to solidly complete various tasks and achieve practical results in accordance with the requirements of the special action. At the same time, the university’s Party Committee will seize this special action as an opportunity to deeply implement the “1-2-3-4” work path, strengthen the “one system,” deepen the “dual integration,” improve the “three mechanisms,” focus on the “four actions,” and promote the high-quality construction of the “double leader” teacher-Party branch secretary team. The university will mobilize more “double leaders” to join the “March for a Powerful Country,” lead teachers and students in taking on new responsibilities and demonstrating new actions in serving national major strategies and the high-quality development of local economies and societies, strive to write a new chapter in the construction of a powerful province in higher education, and make greater contributions to building a powerful country and national rejuvenation.
