Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the list of National University “Dual Leader” Teacher Party Branch Secretary’s “Strong Country Campaign” Special Project Teams, in which the first party branch of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and the teacher party branch of road and bridge engineering in the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture at TU were successfully selected. So far, our university has been selected for three national party-building projects this year.
Under the overall leadership of the Ministry of Education, the special project is organized and promoted by the provincial Education Working Committees. It aims to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s ideas on building our party and a country with strong education so as to innovatively foster virtue through education, by deeply implementing the requirements for the cultivation of “Dual Leader” teacher Party branch secretaries, and giving full play to their exemplary and leading roles in universities. The university party committee attached great importance to the application and recommendation of this special project and completed the work with high quality by mobilizing grassroots party branches during summer vacation to summarize experiences, condense achievements and prepare proposals and roadmaps.

Both two party branches are model branches for party-building work in national and provincial universities.Focusing on enhancing the political and organizational functions of grassroots party organizations, the first party branch of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing works for national strategies of building a leading manufacturing and aerospace country by practicing the concept of symbiotic relationship between universities and cities, and giving full play to the advantages of higher education, science and technology as well as talent. To meet the positioning of local application-oriented education, it has created such party-building brands as “E-Road for Young Students and Big Craftsmen” and “Five-One Project.” Through three-dimensional co-construction, integration of production and education, and scientific research battles, it is committed to creating pioneers in education, service, talent cultivation, and scientific innovation, so as to fully highlight organizational functions, connect the whole chain of talent cultivation, and promote the development of all personnel. The branch has been selected as the provincial advanced grassroots party organization, the provincial “Dual Leader” teacher party branch secretary studio in colleges and universities, and the provincial typical cases of joint party-building among high-education institutions, enterprises and local governments. The branch secretary has also been awarded as Good Branch Secretary by Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee. The School of Intelligent Manufacturing has joined up with enterprises and successfully applied for Zhejiang Provincial Key R&D Program, and National Demonstration Platform for Development and Application of Intelligent Assembly Industrial Robots, with a horizontal contract amount of more than 30 million yuan, the transformation of 27 items, and economic benefits of 8.395 million yuan.
The teacher party branch of road and bridge engineering in the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture focuses on the strategy of building a leading transportation and education country, and the task of fostering virtue through education. In exploring new models and paths of promoting the cause through party-building, it has innovatively built party-building brand “T-Beams” with “Deep Roots, Wide Expansion, and One Family” as its core. Aiming to build a 5-in-1 education complex with the integration of production and education among “government – enterprise – industry association – school – experimental platform,” the school has provided a large number of high-quality talents and professional technical services for the development of local road and bridge construction. The school has completed the inspection and evaluation of more than 8,000 bridges nationwide, and applied its achievements to more than 500 bridge reinforcement projects, saving more than 400 million yuan for the transportation departments. The practical services have been strengthened to nurture students, who have won 25 national awards including the National College Student Structure Competition, and 96 provincial awards including Zhejiang Provincial College Student Mechanics Competition. Known as “Taizhou Model” for bridge management and talent cultivation, it has been reported multiple times by such newspapers as Guangming Daily and China Education News. It has also been selected as a provincial “Dual Leader” teacher party branch secretary studio in universities.

Adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the TU party committee will further clarify work responsibilities, follow the requirements of the special project and promote two party branches to finish tasks with substantial results, by enhancing overall guidance, objective management, process management, resource management and auxiliary support. At the same time, the TU party committee will take this special project as an opportunity to deeply practice the work path by strengthening “one system,” deepening “dual integration,” improving “three mechanisms,” and focusing on “four actions.” By promoting the construction of “Dual Leader” teacher party branch secretary team with high quality, the university will mobilize more “Dual Leader” to join in the “Strong Country Campaign” to play their exemplary and leading role in the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Both teachers and students can be inspired to take on new responsibilities and demonstrate new achievements in serving major national strategies and high-quality development of local economy and society, so as to make greater contributions to the construction of a strong country and national rejuvenation.
