On the afternoon of November 19th, 2024 Zhejiang Promotion Conference on Integration of Industry and Education was held in Hall No. 7 of “Light of Internet” Expo Center in Wuzhen. Yue Chuanyong, University President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, was invited to make a keynote speech on “Taizhou Practice and Exploration of Integration between Industry and Education, School-enterprise Cooperation in Talent Cultivation.” Present at the conference to deliver speeches were Liu Mingliang (Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch and Deputy Director of the Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), Wang Zhongmin (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director and First-level Inspector of Zhejiang Economy and Information Technology Department) and Chen Feng (Member of Zhejiang Education Working Committee, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Education Department of Zhejiang Province).
Yue Chuanyong makes a keynote speech
Yue’s speech is divided into three parts: history and present, measures and achievements, as well as perseverance and prospects, which has fully demonstrated our university’s innovative measures in the integration of industry and education, as well as the achievements in talent cultivation. Yue pointed out, driven by innovation and cooperation to jointly draw a “university-city model,” the university takes the innovation platform as the carrier to build a “development engine,” the integration of industry and education as the important means to deepen “collaborative education,” innovative talent cultivation as the foundation to achieve “targeted problem-solving,” and innovative achievements as the guidance to promote “doubly improving quality.” The university has established its core positioning of building a local application-oriented university to cultivate application-oriented talents relatively early in China. Rooted in the land of Taizhou, it follows the idea of “TU Belongs to Taizhou; TU Prospers Taizhou” by practicing the concept of “a community of shared destiny, shared interests, and shared struggle.” Running a good university to prosper a city, the university has taken the lead in cultivating application-oriented talents through university-local interaction, university-city symbiosis, and university-enterprise collaboration. Zhu’s speech has received high attention from such authoritative media as CCTV News and People’s Daily.

On the promotion conference, the awarding ceremony of Zhejiang’s third batch of key support modern industrial colleges was launched, among which our university’s “Taizhou Bay Biomedical Industrial College” was awarded as a provincial key support industrial college. Li Junmin, Vice President and Member of the CPC Standing Committee, attended the ceremony as the dean of the industrial college.

It is reported that Zhejiang Promotion Conference on Integration of Industry and Education is an integral part of 2024 World Internet Conference and “Light of Internet” Expo. With the support from the Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Talent Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, the conference was co-sponsored by Department of Economy and Information Technology of Zhejiang Province and Education Department of Zhejiang Province, and co-hosted by Zhejiang Digital Economy Development Center, Zhejiang Technology Innovation Service Center, Zhejiang Industrial Development Center, and Zhejiang Smart City Promotion Association. More than 200 representatives from government departments, industrial enterprises, and universities were attracted to attend the conference. Relevant persons in charge of the Academic Affairs Department and the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering of TU also attended the promotion conference.
