The Inauguration Ceremony of TU Institute of Elementary Education & Academic Symposium was held on December 8 in the International Conference Hall of Jiaojiang Campus. Zhu Jian, Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Yue Chuanyong, President and Vice Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, and Chen Haixiao, Full-time Deputy Secretary of Educational Workers’ Committee of Taizhou Municipal Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Education, attended the ceremony and unveiled the plaque of the Institute of Elementary Education of TU. The ceremony was presided over by Li Jianjun, Vice President and Member of the CPC TU Standing Committee.

Zhu Jian delivers a speech

“There should be new actions under the new situation,” Zhu Jian said in his speech. The accommodation of the TU Institute of Elementary Education is not only an important initiative of the university to respond positively to the strategy of building a leading country in education and a leading province in higher education, and improving the quality of education in Taizhou, but also a concrete action of the university to deepen the cooperation with the elementary education of Taizhou and boost the high-quality development of Taizhou’s elementary education.

Zhu emphasized that the development of the TU Institute of Elementary Education should closely follow the pulse of the times, carry out cutting-edge research, and form forward-looking, instructive and iconic results to provide high-quality decision-making advice and intellectual support for the development of elementary education in Taizhou. It should focus on regional education, expand the radius of service, and uphold the concept of “being rooted in Taizhou, serving Zhejiang, and radiating across the country,” and strive to build a regional highland of elementary education research, a regional engine of education reform and innovation, and a think tank for the professional development of regional teachers. It is better for the institute to integrate the resources of all parties, gather development synergy, build a diversified research team, establish a cooperative research mechanism, jointly carry out research on major topics, share research resources and results, and continuously improve the hard power and influence of the Institute.

Chen Haixiao, representing the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Education, extended his congratulations on the establishment of the TU Institute of Elementary Education. He pointed out that, against the backdrop of building a strong country in education, it is timely and essential to found such an institute dedicated to organized scientific research in basic education. This will serve to enhance the quality of education in Taizhou and support the elevation of TU, with impacts that are sure to be profound and lasting. Chen emphasized that the development of the institute should adhere to the correct direction, focus on addressing existing issues, uphold innovation while preserving core values, and maintain a commitment to service first. It should actively provide strategic advice for the development of TU and the advancement of elementary education in Taizhou, promoting high-quality development in education within the region.

After the ceremony, Cui Yunhuo, Director of the Institute of Curriculum and Education of East China Normal University, and Ren Xuebao, Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, respectively made academic reports “New Teaching: Grasping the Big and Unifying the Small with Curricular Thinking” and “Individualized Literacy Education: Exploring Paths to Promote the High-Quality Development of Schools.”
