TU officially established on December 13th its Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America (Overseas Students Friendship Association) in the International Conference Hall on Jiaojiang campus. The event was attended by leaders including Hong Zhenhua, Head of Taizhou Municipal United Front Work Department and Li Jianjun, Vice President and Member of the CPC TU Committee. Also present were Huang Jiayuan, Deputy Secretary-General of Taizhou Municipal Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America (Overseas Students Friendship Association), and Wang Hong, Executive President of Taizhou Municipal Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America (Overseas Students Friendship Association), along with representatives from the university’s united front organizations and secondary party organizations, and overseas returnee representatives. Wu Yinyin, Member of the CPC TU Standing Committee, Director of TU’s Organization Department and Director of TU’s United Front Work Department, presided over the establishing ceremony.

At the meeting, Wu Yinyin read out the approval documents from the CPC TU Committee, Hong Zhenhua and Li Jianjun unveiled the plaque for the TU Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America (Overseas Students Friendship Association), and issued letters of appointment to the members of the first board of directors.
The meeting highlighted that the establishment of the TU Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America is a significant milestone for TU alumni who have returned from overseas, and an important event in the university’s reform and development. It is hoped that the association will fulfill its responsibilities and missions of “loving the motherland, serving the people, being confident and self-reliant, striving for progress, and being open and inclusive.”
The association should strengthen ideological guidance, practice patriotism, consolidate a common ideological and political foundation for unity and hard work, and strive to be a guardian and disseminator of patriotism. It should gather creative power, leverage its unique advantages, and fully play its role as a talent pool for serving the motherland, a think tank for offering advice, and a vital force in interpersonal diplomacy. The association should also enhance its own development, build a warm home for overseas students, leverage the leading role of key figures, and polish the prestigious brand of the university’s Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America.

Li Jianjun, on behalf of the university’s Party Committee, extended warm congratulations on the establishment of TU Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America, and expressed gratitude to Taizhou Municipal United Front Work Department for its care and support in the university’s development, especially in overseas student affairs. He highly affirmed the efforts and contributions of returning overseas students to the university’s development.
It is hoped that the association will take this establishment ceremony as a new starting point to comprehensively strengthen its own development, improve regulations, focus on the cultivation and expansion of its membership, and build a warm home for returning overseas students. The meeting considered and passed the Charter of Taizhou University Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America (Overseas Students Friendship Association) (Draft),” “Election Methods for the First Congress of Taizhou University Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America (Overseas Students Friendship Association) (Draft)” and other documents, and elected the first board of directors. Hu Qiongying was elected as the president and made a statement, Cui Ruiguo and Yan Feng as the vice presidents, Lou Heng as the secretary-general, Zheng Xiaona and Gong Qingfeng as the deputy secretary-generals. Wang Hong, Executive Director of Taizhou Municipal Alumni Association of Overseas Returnees from Europe and America (Overseas Students Friendship Association), delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the various intellectual associations.
