As the new year dawns, everything is renewed. The fruitful year of 2024 has just passed, and 2025, brimming with hope, has arrived. On behalf of the university’s Party and administrative leadership, we extend warm New Year wishes to all faculty, staff, and students! We offer sincere greetings to our retired colleagues and express our highest respect to alumni worldwide and friends from all sectors of society who have long supported the university’s development!
Over the past year, guided by the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the National Education Conference, and under the strong leadership of provincial and municipal Party committees and governments as well as the guidance of the Provincial Education Working Committee and Department of Education, our university has aligned with the “Three Strong Provinces” initiative. Steadfast in our goals of “upgrading to a higher-level university, applying for doctoral programs, and striving to be first-class,” we have achieved rapid progress across all endeavors.
A Year of Party Leadership and Unity. The successful convening of the university’s Fourth Party Congress marked the election of a new leadership team and the formulation of a strategic framework for future development. We fostered a campus-wide ethos of “unity, resilience, pragmatism, and integrity,” creating an environment of shared purpose and vigor. By integrating Party-building with industrial service, rural revitalization, and high-quality disciplinary education, we were recognized as a provincial model institution for Party construction, earning 13 Party-related honors at or above the provincial level (including three national awards), achieving a “dual excellence” milestone.
A Year of Mission and Collective Endeavor. With high-standard Party leadership driving high-quality development, we synergized education, technology, and talent cultivation. Through relentless effort, we achieved remarkable outcomes: 14 master’s degree programs were approved (tying for second place nationally); six disciplines entered the ESI global top 1% (second among its mainland counterparts); 22 faculty members were listed among the world’s top 2% scientists; 26 National Natural Science Foundation grants were secured (leading among peer institutions in Zhejiang); six provincial-level platforms were established; and infrastructure projects, including the Science Complex, graduate apartments, a second cafeteria, the International Nursing School, and a swimming pool, broke ground, bolstering teaching and research capabilities.
A Year of Shared Success. We advanced the vision of a “Harmonious, Dynamic, Beautiful, and Fulfilling TU,” prioritizing student-centric education and nurturing well-rounded, socially responsible talents. Ten key initiatives to serve faculty and students were completed, and administrative efficiency reforms like the “One Visit at Most” system progressed. Faculty earned over 110 provincial or higher honors, while students won over 230 national academic competition awards. Every achievement reflects the collective dedication of our community and the unwavering support of the Party, government, and society. We extend our deepest gratitude to all!
As spring returns to the earth and blessings fill the world, 2025 marks the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the groundwork for the 15th. On this new journey, every member of TU must strive tirelessly as dream-chasers. Let us unite under our motto, “Cultivate Virtue and Pursue Timely Excellence,” embrace the spirit of “Six Diligences,” and forge ahead with unwavering resolve to accelerate the realization of TU’s ambitious goals.
Wishing everyone health, family joy, and prosperity in the New Year!
