TU Party Secretary Zhu Jian visited TU’s Affiliated School on March 27. He engaged in face-to-face communication with nearly 100 junior high students and delivered a lecture titled “Harnessing Youth Power in the Tide of Times.”

“Innovation drives national development, while youth constitute its vital force,” stated Zhu. Systematically reviewing the development process, institutional advantages, and practical achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics, he elaborated on Zhejiang’s implementation of the “Eight-Eight Strategies” through four dimensions: economic transformation, ecological improvement, livelihood enhancement, and cultural prosperity. The lecture thoroughly interpreted the strategic connotation and practical enlightenment of the “Eight-Eight Strategies,” vividly showcasing Zhejiang’s comprehensive development under this guiding framework over two decades.
Citing real-world examples including Hangzhou’s six leading tech “dragons” and DeepSeek, Zhu analyzed the eight strategic advantages and implementation measures. He emphasized the university’s commitment to integrating the “Eight-Eight Strategies,” promoting the “Four Perseverances” and “Six Dedications” spirits while advancing institutional upgrades and first-class discipline development. The university remains dedicated to building “the most student-caring university” and creating distinctive features for a high-level applied university through four campus development pillars: harmonious, dynamic, beautiful, and fulfilling TU.

Zhu urged the young students to:
Cultivate lofty ideals and convictions: Life requires direction. Embrace the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation as your compass.
Master scientific knowledge: In this information age, broaden intellectual horizons and build solid foundations. Remember: “Diligence bridges the mountain of knowledge; perseverance navigates the sea of learning.”
Develop innovative spirit and practical capabilities: Dare to think differently and engage in social practices that combine theory with application.

“The future of our nation resides in youth with ideals, capabilities, and responsibility,” Zhu emphasized. He encouraged students to anchor personal aspirations within national development trends, concluding: “Steer your life’s course in this era, and contribute youthful vigor to realizing the Chinese Dream of great rejuvenation.”
