TU has been selected to participate in Zhejiang Province’s pilot program exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform teaching and learning. The provincial education office announced the approval of this initiative on May 27th. The university’s proposed project, “A Literacy-Focused New Teaching Model,” is among those chosen.

This pilot project, a collaboration between the university’s IT Center and School of Marxism, will develop a specialized large language model (LLM) called “Taste of Truth.” This model will be tailored to integrate Taizhou’s local history and values—such as the pioneering “Dachen Island Reclamation Spirit” and the traditional “Culture of Harmony and Unity”—deeply into ideo-political education across all school levels (university, secondary, primary). Its core purpose is to use technology to actively shape student values, moving beyond just delivering knowledge towards fostering deeper understanding and critical thinking.
The project aims to equip over 2,000 Taizhou teachers of ideo-political courses with the skills to leverage AI. It will promote a “teacher-AI-student” collaborative approach in the classroom. Ultimately, the goal is to establish a new, effective model for integrated values education across all educational stages, designed for potential adoption across Zhejiang Province.
The university will develop a detailed implementation plan to ensure high-quality research and outcomes. It will actively seek to share successful results widely within the province and nationally.
Furthermore, this pilot project serves as a catalyst for the university to strategically guide the development of AI models and intelligent systems tailored for specific academic disciplines. The focus is on creating replicable and scalable examples of how AI can enhance teaching and learning reform, driving the university’s overall progress through technological empowerment.
