President Le Chuanyong delivering remarks
President Le Chuanyong extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2025. In a speech titled “With Love in Your Hearts, Paths Under Your Feet, and Light in Your Eyes,” he delivered the “final lesson” of university to the graduates. He praised their energy and sense of responsibility as representatives of the post-2000 generation, describing them as shapers of their time, builders of TU, and champions of youth. He reminded graduates that whether they embark on grand journeys or contribute to grassroots communities, their alma mater will always take pride in them.
Le also offered three guiding principles for life after graduation.
First, anchor your life with a grand vision. Understand the broader picture, recognize historical development, and root personal ideals deeply in the rejuvenation of the nation. Harness collective strength: dare to be the driving “wave” where the nation needs you most, yet also contribute as the steady “drop” within a team. Ground your efforts locally while connecting them to the greater good, so personal growth gains meaning and value.
Second, temper your growth with a spirit of pioneering and perseverance. Reject the energy-draining, lying-flat mentality, and face the unexpected challenges of the professional world with courage. Embrace hands-on work and the sense of achievement it brings. Cultivate lifelong learning in an era of rapidly evolving AI, overcome career fatigue, and break through professional barriers. Forge mental resilience, and meet life’s storms with the grit and determination of special-force soldiers.
Third, build a safe harbor through the wisdom of harmony. Even while busy with work, remember to strengthen family bonds by offering high-quality attention and care instead of perfunctory responses. Let your relationship be a source of mutual growth, with you and your partner growing together like two oak trees, roots intertwined and branches supporting each other. Let family values serve as your anchor in life: when material distractions shake your inner world, these values provide stability and guidance. In turbulent times, your home remains your steadfast source of calm and strength.
“May you have love in your hearts to illuminate the unknown journey, paths under your feet to chart your own course, and light in your eyes to reflect the brilliance of your generation.” Le Chuanyong concluded, cheering on the Class of 2025. He then posed for group photos with graduates.

Faculty representatives giving speeches
At the Linhai campus, Su Chang, a faculty representative from the School of Marxism, explored the important topic of life’s value from a philosophical perspective. He encouraged graduates to discover true value through love of truth, love of freedom, and love of oneself, urging them to live with integrity and conscience and become the pride of the university.
Gao Yanhong from the School of Teacher Education (Physical Education) delivered a heartfelt message: “It is you who have made the TU shine even brighter! This will always be engraved in our hearts, and your presence will forever remain the university’s most beautiful scenery.” She also encouraged graduates that, regardless of the careers they choose, they should cultivate virtue, maintain passion, take responsibility, embrace their mission, be resilient and persevering, and strive to build a life worthy of the nation and the times.
At the Jiaojiang campus, Xiong Xianqiang, representing the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, reminded graduates to live with gratitude, grow positively, and become people of warmth and responsibility. He urged them to commit to diligence, pursue lifelong learning, and stand firm amid the waves of the times while carrying youth’s energy and continuing to strive for their own careers. He called on them to find the extraordinary in the ordinary, drawing on the knowledge, skills, and character nurtured during their college years to navigate the path ahead.
Shen Jingjing from the School of Architecture used architectural metaphors to congratulate the graduates on having drawn their own “blueprints for life” and laid the “foundations” during their years at the university. As they prepare to step onto the “construction site” of society, she reminded them that true structural strength comes from inner stability: to uphold integrity and kindness, and to sustain a passion for learning. She encouraged them to be as steadfast as mountains and as embracing as the sea, becoming the strong “pillars” of their own lives and shaping an open and inclusive “space” in life.

Graduate representatives give speeches
At the Linhai campus, Wang Siyu, a graduate majoring in Chinese Language and Literature from the School of Humanities, reflected on four years of memories and progress by sharing two moments from her social media posts. She shared the university motto, “continuously improve ethical conduct and make timely progress in learning”, as words to live by together with her classmates—taking virtue as the root, learning as the path, and application as the destination. Together with her peers, she resolved to always keep alive a curiosity for the world, a reverence for knowledge, and a love for life.
Tao Weipeng, a graduate majoring in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering (Big Data), shared his personal maxim: “Only through rigorous thinking and tireless verification can one find the optimal solution to life.” He invited his fellow graduates to carry their passion for their discipline into the future—not only to be diligent “problem-solvers,” but also to become wise “seekers of light,” dedicating their youth to the nation and bringing honor to TU.
At the Jiaojiang campus, Tao Rui, a graduate majoring in Financial Management from the School of Business, expressed heartfelt gratitude to her alma mater—for nurturing her character, for her teachers’ guidance in academic pursuits, and for the genuine friendships of her peers. She called on graduates to serve social development with their professional expertise, to drive progress with innovative thinking, and to engage in global competition with an international vision, so that the flowers of youth may bloom where the nation needs them most.
Li Kang, a graduate majoring in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing (Aerospace Engineering), reflected deeply on his growth at the university, grateful for its cultivation of his ability to think independently, to study autonomously, and to face challenges bravely. “Graduation is not an end, but a new beginning,” he said, inviting his peers to approach life with greater passion, stronger resolve, and a down-to-earth attitude. He called on them to write their own extraordinary chapters, to bring honor to their alma mater, and to contribute to the glory of the nation.
