The inauguration ceremony of the Research Center for Finance and Corporate Restructuring of the School of Business of Taizhou Univeristy was held at the International Conference Hall on the Jiaojiang Campus on the afternoon of July 17.
Attendees included Le Chuanyong, University President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC TU Committee; Wang Fawei, Vice President of the Taizhou Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade CCPIT; Hong Haibo, Head of the Third Civil Division of the Taizhou Intermediate People’s Court; Qian Weimin, Senior Judge of the Court’s Bankruptcy and Liquidation Division; Chen Hao, Deputy General Manager of Bank of China Jakarta Branch; and Wang Weiwei, Deputy General Manager of Bank of China Taizhou Branch.

President Le Chuanyong delivering remarks
In his address, President Le Chuanyong highlighted that the launch of the Research Center is a key initiative for the university to deepen industry–education integration and contribute to regional economic development. He stressed that the Center will focus on the transformation and upgrading of Taizhou’s private economy, tackling pressing issues such as corporate mergers and acquisitions and the management of non-performing assets. By providing evidence-based support for government policy-making and offering professional solutions for business transformation, the Center aims to become a valuable think tank and strategic consultant for the region’s financial sector.

At the ceremony, Le Chuanyong and Qian Weimin jointly unveiled the plaque for the Research Center. Le also presented Qian with appointment letters as Director of the Center and Honorary Professor. In addition, Hu Feng, Vice Dean of the School of Business presented appointment letters to Zhang Cheng, Ye Ping, Tao Zi, Zhai Lingna, and Che Wei as Deputy Directors, Secretary-General, and Distinguished Research Fellows.

Following the inauguration, the first session of the International Business Law Lecture and Xinhu Forum was held.
In his remarks, Wang Fawei, Vice President of the Taizhou Committee of the CCPIT, congratulated the establishment of the Research Center. He emphasized that foreign trade is a key pillar of Taizhou’s economic development, and that the International Business Law Lecture will provide participating enterprise leaders with first-hand, cutting-edge insights into the international financial market, offering strategic guidance and confidence for competing in the global marketplace.
Feng Min from the Financial Markets Department of Bank of China Zhejiang Branch delivered a professional briefing on “Foreign Exchange Rate Outlook and Hedging Instruments”, while Chen Hao, Deputy General Manager of Bank of China Jakarta Branch, presented a keynote report on “Business Opportunities and Investment Environment in Indonesia”, bringing participants advanced perspectives on finance and law.

The International Business Law Lecture of Xinhu Forum
The establishment of the Research Center marks a new step for TU in serving the regional economy and advancing disciplinary development. Looking ahead, the Center will uphold a spirit of openness and collaboration, working closely with government agencies, enterprises, and financial institutions to contribute expertise and support to Taizhou’s goal of becoming a model city for private enterprise.
Duan Wenqi, Dean of the School of Business, stated that the Center will integrate expertise from finance, accounting, and law, and collaborate with government departments, financial institutions, and leading enterprises to carry out theoretical research, talent development, and community services. The goal is to establish the Center as a regional “think tank, bridge, and incubator” for finance and corporate restructuring.
Ma Bin, Party Secretary of the School of Business, and Ye Ping, Secretary-General of the Research Center, presided over the inauguration ceremony and the International Business Law Lecture of Xinhu Forum. More than 200 participants attended, including officials from relevant municipal departments, enterprise representatives, senior executives from financial institutions, and faculty and students from the School of Business.
