Recently, the 2025 “Belt and Road Silk Road Academies” list was announced by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, and Zhejiang Foreign Affairs Office. TU’s China–Mexico Smart Manufacturing Silk Road Academy, co-established with Zhejiang Yinlun Machinery Co., Ltd., was successfully included in the list. This recognition marks another significant achievement in the university’s active participation in the national Belt and Road initiative, its efforts to serve the domestic–international dual circulation development strategy, and its commitment to deepening international cooperation in education.
Founded in August 2024 as the original TU–Yinlun Silk Road Academy, the China–Mexico Smart Manufacturing Silk Road Academy is the university’s first overseas training base established in collaboration with Yinlun Machinery in Mexico. It aims to provide an integrated theoretical and practical platform for international talent development. By offering skills training, research collaboration, and joint student programs for domestic and international personnel, the academy not only builds a bridge for cultural exchange between China and other countries, but also lays a solid foundation for cultivating globally competent talent with expertise in technology, management, and cross-cultural communication. The initiative has preliminarily achieved its goal of aligning academic programs with industry chains and providing teaching resources to meet enterprise needs, helping Yinlun Machinery gain early success in its overseas ventures.
Looking ahead, the university will leverage this selection as an opportunity to mobilize resources from government, enterprises, and higher education institutions, increase investment, strengthen campus infrastructure and management systems, and effectively manage potential risks. These efforts aim to comprehensively enhance the academy’s educational quality and international influence, advance international educational cooperation to higher, broader, and deeper levels, and contribute greater wisdom and strength to the Belt and Road initiative.
