Delegation from Namangan State University of Uzbekistan Visits TU

Professor Kirgizbayev Abdug’affor Karimjonovich, President of Namangan State University (NSU) of Uzbekistan, led a delegation to visit Taizhou University for an inspection and exchange visit on the morning of October 31. Zhu Jian, Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, warmly received the delegation in the reception hall. Li Jianjun, Vice President and Member of the CPC TU Standing Committee, attended the cooperation and exchange meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was hosted by Gong Shasha, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, with participation from officials of the Science and Technology Office, the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, and other relevant departments.

On behalf of the university, Zhu Jian warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced Taizhou’s cultural heritage, strategic location, and industrial characteristics. He highlighted the university’s achievements in serving the local economy, particularly in the development of the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, and expressed hope for deepened exchange and cooperation to build consensus and achieve greater results in joint educational initiatives.

Professor Kirgizbayev thanked the university for its warm reception, highly praised Taizhou’s natural scenery and urban vitality, and commended TU’s discipline development and internationalization efforts. He expressed anticipation that this visit would lay a solid foundation for cooperation between the two universities.

At the cooperation and exchange meeting, Li Jianjun warmly welcomed the delegation and provided a detailed introduction to TU’s scale, academic programs, and internationalization efforts. He emphasized that the university attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with universities in Central Asia, expressing hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to deepen practical collaboration in education and research, and to achieve substantive results in faculty and student exchanges, academic research, and the development of innovation platforms.

Professor Kirgizbayev noted that NSU is one of Uzbekistan’s long-established higher education institutions. The university emphasizes international development and has established cooperative relationships with universities in multiple countries. It is also among the first Uzbek universities to set up a special SCO representative office. He expressed hope that the two universities could deepen cooperation in faculty and student exchanges, joint research, language teaching, and the establishment of joint academic committees, explore the creation of joint educational programs and a Chinese language center, and offer remote courses to TU students and faculty, jointly promoting international academic exchange and scientific research.

Professor Dehkanov Davron Burkhonovich, NSU’s Vice President, then provided a detailed introduction to the university’s academic structure and research characteristics. Huang Guobo, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, introduced the school’s development history, research achievements, and industrial collaborations, expressing willingness to carry out joint research and talent cultivation with NSU in the field of pharmaceutical and chemical engineering.

At the meeting, Li Jianjun, on behalf of TU, and Kirgizbayev signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Taizhou University and Namangan State University of Uzbekistan. The two sides held in-depth discussions and reached preliminary consensus on the key areas, including jointly building research platforms, applying for international collaborative projects, implementing faculty and student exchange programs, and establishing language and cultural centers.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering to gain first-hand understanding of laboratory facilities, the transformation of research achievements, and ongoing international collaboration projects. Both sides agreed that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding marks a new starting point, and expressed commitment to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation in scientific research, talent cultivation, and cultural exchange, jointly forging a new chapter in China–Uzbekistan higher education collaboration.
