The Journal of Taizhou University achieves excellent results in competition

Recently, two video abstracts submitted by the Journal of Taizhou University stood out amid fierce competition of the Second Demonstration Case Library of Chinese University Science & Technology Journals · Gold / Silver / Bronze Case for Video Abstracts. They were selected as a Bronze Case and an Excellent Case, respectively. This marks the Journal’s first breakthrough in winning national awards in the field of integrated publishing since it began exploring new publishing models.

As an important initiative responding to the national strategy of “promoting deep media integration” and advancing the “AI+” program, the Society of China University Journals (CUJS) launched a call for submissions from April to October 2025. A total of 267 video abstracts from university S&T journals nationwide—each based on articles published between October 2024 and September 2025—participated in the selection. The evaluation process adopted a multi-dimensional comprehensive mechanism combining expert review, CNKI download/view statistics, and online voting. Ultimately, Golden, Silver, Bronze and Excellent Cases were selected at the national level.

The Journal of Taizhou University’s entry selected as a Bronze Case was the video abstract for the article “The Bench Loong’s Turning Path Model” published in Issue 3, 2025. The video abstract chosen as an Excellent Case was based on the article “Technological Dreams——Henri Rivière’s Technological Innovation of Shadow Plays in the Late Nineteenth Century” published in Issue 2, 2025. The creation and promotion of video abstracts reflect the Journal’s recent efforts to deepen digital development and explore new dissemination models integrating academic research and science popularization, demonstrating its notable achievements in the innovation of academic communication.

The Journal intends to take this selection as an opportunity to further deepen its exploration and application of new publishing models, facilitating the transformation of academic outputs from print to digital media, and making them accessible beyond specialist audiences to the general public. By breaking through the limitations of tangible and static forms of expression, it aims to make academic outputs more dynamic and knowledge dissemination more flexible. At the same time, it will actively advance the deep integration of “AI + academic communication,” injecting new momentum into the broad dissemination and efficient transformation of academic outputs.

In addition, in the “2025 Demonstration Case Library of Chinese University S&T Journals · Editorial Team and Individual Editor,” editor Wang Zheng of TU was selected as an Excellent Editor.
