The Conference of Artificial Intelligence Empowering Manufacturing successfully held at TU

The Conference of Artificial Intelligence Empowering Manufacturing, themed “Multidimensional Intelligence & Boundless Innovation”, was successfully held at Taizhou University on November 15. Attending the conference were Chen Youzeng, Deputy Secretary-General of Taizhou Municipal Government; Chen Hao, Party Committee member and Deputy Director of Taizhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; Ke Yuebing, Party Committee member and Deputy Director of Taizhou Municipal Data Bureau; Fang Chonghui, Deputy Director of Taizhou Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau; Han Deman, Vice President of TU; and Cai Haijiang, Party Committee member and Director of the Publicity Department of TU.

The conference invited top experts in the field of artificial intelligence, including Gao Wen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of Pengcheng Laboratory; Chen Gang, Professor and Vice President of Zhejiang University and Standing Committee member of its Communist Party Committee; Zhang Zhengyou, Chief Scientist of Tencent; Tian Qi, Chief Scientist of Huawei Terminal BG and Director of Bright Lab; Xiao Jing, Chief Scientist of Ping An Group; and Ji Xiangyang, Professor and Director of the Brain and Cognitive Sciences Institute, Department of Automation, Tsinghua University. Representatives from municipal government departments and corporate leaders also participated to jointly discuss the pathways and future of deep integration between artificial intelligence and the manufacturing industry.

Conference Scene

In the morning, the conference opening ceremony was held at the International Conference Hall, presided over by Yu Hongbiao, Vice Chairman of the Taizhou Association for Science and Technology. TU’s Vice President Han Deman delivered a welcoming speech to the attending guests and emphasized the significance of artificial intelligence empowering manufacturing for the high-quality development of the regional economy. During the ceremony, leaders including Chen Youzeng and Han Deman jointly unveiled the Taizhou Key Institute of Artificial Intelligence Industries, marking a critical step for Taizhou in leveraging artificial intelligence to empower local industries.

During the keynote session, Gao Wen delivered a report titled “China Computing Power Network and Pengcheng Mind Large Models,” elaborating on the computing power network as an inevitable trend in the development of computing infrastructure, and introducing the innovation plan of building a “China Computing Power Network” as well as the deployment and application of related large models.

Zhang Zhengyou focused on “Generative AI, Agent AI, and Embodied AI,” analyzing technology development trends and presenting progress in the R&D of hierarchical embodied intelligence systems and intelligent robots.

Xiao Jing, drawing on practical experience, shared Ping An Group’s innovative technologies and practices in digital transformation within the financial sector, exploring innovative pathways and value for “artificial intelligence empowering high-quality digital development of financial services.”

Chen Gang, focusing on “Key Technologies and Applications of Real-Time Big Data Processing,” shared relevant technological breakthroughs and their applications in financial risk control, telecommunications fraud prevention, and other fields.

Ji Xiangyang, centering on “Machine Vision Spatial Computing Technologies and Applications,” presented the cutting-edge developments in machine vision spatial computing and discussed its current applications and trends in industrial and aerospace sectors.

In the afternoon, the second-stage keynote session and Roundtable Forum (Science Café), themed “How AI Empowers Manufacturing,” were held in Conference Room 711 of the Science and Technology Complex. Tian Qi attended the forum and delivered a special presentation titled “World Models: Preliminary Exploration and Reflections.” Focusing on the theme of world models, he discussed the future forms and developmental pathways of artificial intelligence.

Guests including Fang Xiaoqi, Director of the Industrial Development Division of the Taizhou Development and Reform Commission; Wang Yangyu of Crystal Optech Company; Liu Liwen of BH Technology; Ding Huangjie of Xinzhi Group; and Yang Yong of Zhejiang East Asia Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on practical challenges, technology implementation pathways, and industrial upgrading directions in the integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing, collectively offering insights and advice for the intelligent transformation of Taizhou’s manufacturing industry.

At the Roundtable Forum (Science Café)

The conference was hosted by TU and the Taizhou Association for Science and Technology, and co-organized by the Taizhou Society of Artificial Intelligence, the Taizhou Digital Economy Promotion Association, and the Taizhou Data Intelligence Research Institute. Its successful convening provided an important platform for academic exchange, technological sharing, and industrial collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence. Moreover, through the expertise of top specialists and in-depth dialogues among government, enterprises, academia, and research institutions, the conference further clarified the development direction of artificial intelligence empowering manufacturing, offering new ideas and solutions for the transformation and upgrading of Taizhou enterprises.

Looking ahead, the university will continue to serve as a connecting platform, promoting the deep integration of AI technologies with Taizhou’s real economy, accelerating the transfer of scientific and technological achievements, injecting strong momentum into the development of local intelligent manufacturing industry, and contribute to building a “digitally advanced city.”
